Super Submarine — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

First and foremost, I have to say that the fried chicken at Super Submarine is absolutely delicious. It's crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with just the right amount of seasoning. It's clear that the chefs take pride in their work and use high-quality ingredients to make their dishes.

But what really sets Super Submarine apart is the hospitality of the owner. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and appreciated. The owner took the time to chat with me and make sure that my dining experience was enjoyable. It's clear that the owner Mr Asad cares about the restaurant and the customers, and goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone has a great experience.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is also wonderful. It's clean, well-lit, and has a cozy feel to it. The staff are all friendly and attentive, and I felt like I was in good hands throughout my visit.

After a year+ on the lookout for this elusive Chicago delicacy, I recently had the good fortune of locating & eating a Jim Shoe (aka Gym Shoe). For those not in the know, the Jim Show is a corn beef, roast beef and gyro meat filled sandwich originating from Chicago's South and West sides. I paid $14.99 + tax for a beast of a sandwich from Super Submarine on Ashland. The meat was minced, mixed, and served on soft sub bread, then topped with mayo/tzatziki, yellow mustard, giardiniera, shredded lettuce and tomatoes. A blend of three famous sandwiches creating something amazingly delicious and completely American. From the first bite, I realized things had changed for me. Why have one of the three when you can have ALL THREE. For me, the Jim Shoe has claimed the number one spot as Chicago's best sandwich.
