If I could give this place zero stars I would! Just based on morality alone! I've come to this restaurant 9 times with business partners and colleagues but never with my family. Yesterday I decided that it would be a great idea to bring my family in for dinner between 4 or 5pm. My wife went ahead of us because my five year old daughter has problems with her kidneys and she had to urinate immediately but before we could even get out of our cars, (three carloads of hungry people) my wife comes back out upset saying that she asked if my daughter could use the washroom and they declined to let her use their facilities. My wife even told them just let my daughter use the washroom and we'll order but they still declined saying that it was their policy that she order first! Policy? Really? So my wife came back to where we were all parked, just down the street from the restaurant and opened the rear door to my truck and in a humiliating act of desperation, my 5 year old daughter had to squat and urinate right off the curb on Ashland Ave. I've since shared yesterday's events with everyone at my firm. Naturally they were shocked and now Ricanos, They've just lost over 57 customers and about 10 potential customers based on their moral judgment. Do not come to this restaurant in search of help of any kind, even if it's an emergency and you're having a heart attack, go elsewhere because you'd have to order something before they'd extend a helping hand. Whatever happened with being selfless towards the next person? We will never ever set foot in here again. Keep in mind that if they treated a 5 year old little girl this way, imagine how they'd treat anyone else. We've spent hundreds of dollars at this restaurant only to get treated in such an awfully disrespectful manner? It's unbelievable! Regardless, we went up to a Mexican restaurant called Huentitan located on North Ave and Pulaski. They took care of 23 individual orders with ease and the quality of the food was 10x's better...
Read moreThe inside of this little restaurant is pretty, I love all the plants. But the strong smell of cooking oil wasn't great. Prices were on the high side. Chilaquiles were good, but on the softer side. The green salsa was a little hot (but not over the top), and it had a good flavor. The beans and rice were delicious. Beans had a slight chorizo taste. And that's what gave them such a good flavor ...mmmm. The rice was a little more tomato flavored than most (but it worked, it was excellent), and the texture was perfect (not mushy). I had to salt them both (cause I do love my salt), but not much. Enchiladas de pollo w mole were good. The chicken tasted very fresh. The mole sauce was decent, but I still prefer the mole at Parkview diner more. These Enchiladas were served with a very large amount of melted cheese on top. I prefer just a sprinkle of cheese. Because I'm all about the mole flavor, and I don't like the cheese to cover it up. But if you're a gooey cheese junky you may really like these enchiladas. Btw the mole is not a sweet or very chocolaty type of mole (in case you were wondering). Coffee was a little weird tasting but acceptable once you added sugar. The service was great. Parking was a little hard to find. But the street parking is...
Read moreA quiet and beautiful spot- the food is reasonably priced and mad decent. I had the cecina, the pastor, and something I don’t always see- a Yucatán style cochinita taco that I appreciated.
I’m not really into dining in because of covid, but was walking past from a visit at rush- and they had a sign out advertising their patio. I was lead back by the host abd OH MY GOD! it so beautiful and quests back here, and one guy was even making last min touch ups to the very cute fountain with a virgin de Guadalupe statue . This is my new fav secret spot.
Thank you so much for your work on your lovely resturant, I will be returning with friends for sure.
Also the service is pretty hands off, but personally, that’s what I prefer. I was still checked up on and things of course, but they understood my vibe and left me to myself as I vibed on the patio. I am officially a...
