Stopped on a visit to Chicago and the street tacos were delicious. We tried two steak with lettuce, tomato, onion @ $4 each, one barbacoa with cilantro & onion @$4 each, and one ground beef with lettuce, tomato, onion @ $3.50 each. They arrived with two bottles of sauce - the red was a spicy sauce with a bit of a smokey flavor, and the green was limey and bright. With 2 drinks the total came to around $23, which isn't too bad. The more annoying part - and just part of Chicago, nothing to do with the restaurant - was paying $12 to park to be there less than an hour. The woman at the counter was friendly, the chef in the kitchen made a point to say goodbye and to have a good day. The restaurant and bathroom were clean. All-in-all a delicious lunch and if we come back to Chicago for a visit we...
Read moreDelicious! We stumbled upon Outpost when our out of town guests were coming. Their child has a severe nut allergy, and Outpost is nut-friendly (as well as gluten friendly and vegetarian friendly). We wanted to stay in, have a family-style meal, and not cook haha. This food was perfect! My 8 year old went back for seconds.... And then thirds 🤣. Delicious fresh guac and chips. They anticipated our need for flour tortillas (non Hispanic white kids 🙄🤣) and the customer service, delivery, and food quality was all top notch. The adults all got full and kept wanting to go back for more! We will definitely order again for just our family or when we have guests again. The family meal for 6 easily fed our 4 adults and 5 young children, and we...
Read moreNice improvement with the interior over the previous place. More importantly, the food is much better. Tacos are great, the carne asada is fantastic! They make their own chorizo, which I'm trying next. They have deep-fried flour tortilla chips nicely dusted with cinnamon sugar, also known as Cinnamon Crispas from when Taco Bell had them back in the day. One of the few things I have ever loved at the Bell. Looked like they were made to order, they were certainly warm and fresh. Excellent! I'm in love again. The owner and cook are great people, too. When the people working at the Old Post Office (and the New Post Office) discover them they'll eventually have to take over most or all of the tiny building they're in. And get a bunch of...
