Afters Ice Cream — Restaurant in West Covina

Great ice cream! Their sense for business was lacking a bit the night we went in. We ordered a couple cups of ice cream and headed to the register right about the time a whole slew if people came in. We stood at the register for a bit, bit no one came to help take our $$. We asked one of the employees who just looked at it and walked away. We tried one last time before walking out and not paying and finally one of the employees came to the register and we paid for our ice cream. Ownership/management may want to think about who they staff when, as some of their employees don't feel getting $$ from the customers (to then lay their salary) is important. It may be up to the customer to be the lead/responsible one as it may not be on the mind of the employees of this...

Came here because really wanted some and every other ice cream shop was closed, had never heard of afters before, but it is open until midnight. Was very pleasantly surprised with this gem. They have a wide variety of some creative flavors, very good ice cream overall. Got the triple c ice cream and my boyfriend got mint and we both loved it. Very friendly staff and the line was long but it moved very quickly. Definitely keeping it on my list of favorite ice cream spots.

The one thing I didn't really care for was the wooden spoons. If you don't get ice cream on both sides of the spoon it has a weird mouth feel, but just something to get used to.

I love afters but the last handful of times I have come to this location they are most of the time closed outside of their posted hours. I say most of the time because tonight was different. Tonight i got to after’s maybe 15 minutes before they closed and was greeted with an unlocked door, front of house lights off, music blaring, and not an employee to be seen until i was back in my car at 11pm when they came to collect the outside chairs and lock the doors.
