The food is usually good, which is obviously not why they are only getting one star. The one star is on account of their terrible customer service. When everything with the order is fine customer service is great. However, if they make a mistake (god forbid) it goes downhill very quickly. I work in customer service, and I'm a patient person. On two occasions I've had delivery orders messed up. That's fine. We are all human, mistakes happen. First occasion, they get the sandwiches completely wrong and when we call back they argue and say we ordered what they gave us. They were being dicks, there's no way around that. The second time I order online, so I have documentation. They put the wrong toppings on the wrong sandwich and left the bacon that I paid extra for off completely. When I call back, they guy says "Just switch the toppings on the sandwiches, it's not that hard I make them all of the time." No guy, it's not that hard, but you are being paid to do it for me so I expect to not have to do it myself. A small example of how rude this guy actually was on both occasions. With all of the shitty attitude they gave us, they never ONCE even offered to FIX their mistake. I've made sandwiches for a living bro and you're right, it's NOT that hard, so what's your excuse? Why am I paying almost 20 dollars for two sandwiches that you won't even fix when you mess up? I don't know if it's just one of you or several of you with the attitude problems, but whoever you are you obviously can't handle having a simple job. If I have anything to do with it though, you won't have a job for long ;)
And to those of you saying these reviews are harsh, you couldn't be more wrong. This location absolutely does not reflect my jimmy johns experience as a whole, only this location, and the giant bag of dicks that work there who take their miserable lives out...
Read moreIt was my first time at a Jimmy John’s (recently moved here) and have to say I don’t think I’ll be back. I asked for the new Black and Bleu sandwich because I had seen all the commercials for it. I asked it I could purchase extra meat but have it on the side as I like to give some to my dog as a treat while I eat. The cashier (Matt) was extremely rude about the request and refused to do it explaining that ‘if he did it on my order, he’d have to do that on someone else’s order as well and that it was against corporate policy to purchase extra meat on the side’. I asked for clarification as to why purchasing extra meat on the side was an issue and he rolled his eyes and gave the same canned response. I decided not to proceed with the special request since I clearly wasn’t getting anywhere with ‘Matt’ but his attitude continued thru the rest of the transaction. The other employee (didn’t catch her name) seemed nice as she handed me my sandwich and even when I had to come back in for my keys, but ‘Matt’ still seemed to have an attitude. Clearly this employee is not meant for a customer service role and has put a bad taste in my first experience with this place. To the girl working/ answering the phone during the evening shift, around 7:15 pm, 6/20/23 at the Mills Civic, West Des Moines location…this was the absolute WORST customer service I have ever had. I never leave bad reviews, so it was that bad!! I placed an order thru Uber Eats, not directly with the establishment. Apparently Jimmy Johns still delivers for Uber Eats delivery services, yet for the second day in a row..they didn’t have a delivery person. So why the heck are we paying jacked up prices thru Uber Eats for jimmy john delivery if they don’t have drivers personally? Anyway…. So I said ok, I’ll pick it up and order by phone, and I was immediately hung up on. I called back and said you hung up on me when I was about to order, and it was nothing but an argument. She was extremely rude, short, and was absolutely terrible!!! This is probably the reason yelp reviews for this location is a 2.
