The food is decent, but definitely not worth what they charge. They have standard hotel restaurant dishes but with gourmet level pricing. Doesn’t add up. On top of the inflated prices, there are other surprise fees you’ll see on your bill after. Yay!
They don’t alert customers to this ahead of time, but they have a shady practice of adding an 18% additional “Service Charge” to your bill. Just because. When I asked about it, they said that charge is the gratuity. But there’s still a line for gratuity. And again, they explain none of this unless you ask. Seems deceptive, and I’m not even sure the Service Charge really goes to the servers. But I wasn’t going to double-tip either, paying 40% extra on top of the inflated prices. That whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth, and is enough for me not to return.
The servers were okay, but I could hardly get their attention even in the mostly empty restaurant. One acted like she’d rather not be working at all. The other was nice. Still, slow service over all though.
I’m staying at the hotel for a few days, but after that bummer of an experience the first evening, I won’t return. There are plenty of other options around that offer better food, service, prices, and no mysterious surprise...
Read moreRiot House is definitely one of the highlights of my stay at Andaz West Hollywood. The chicken wings are absolutely incredible and honestly some of the best I have had in the United States. They are flavorful, perfectly cooked, and really stand out on the menu. I highly recommend trying them and not skipping over this dish.
The salad was decent and fresh but did not quite reach the same level as the wings. One of the other things I really enjoyed was the non-alcoholic Mai Tai. It was so good that we ended up ordering three rounds each. The flavors were well balanced and refreshing which made it a perfect complement to the meal.
The service throughout our dinner was warm and attentive. The staff made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive and their friendly attitude added to the positive atmosphere.
Speaking of atmosphere, Riot House has a really fun and lively vibe. It is a great place to come for a casual dinner where you can enjoy delicious food, good drinks, and a vibrant energy. Whether you are staying at the hotel or just visiting the area it is definitely worth a visit.
Overall this restaurant left a great impression and I would happily return on...
Read moreWhat a ripoff!! I yelped this place and saw all the good reviews...and now I just wanna shout "ARE YOU SERIOUS?" We got there around 1pm, the place was pretty much dead with no customers. The brunch and lunch menu looked pathetic with very few choices: one steak, one salmon, one pasta for main. the rest of them are salad and toaste and pancakes. not very impressed. So i followed my fellow yelpers advice and ordered truffle risotto for both of us. and also truffle fries. BIG MISTAKE. First, the fries does not taste anything different than the ordinary fries. I tried different truffle frieds in many places, this one is the worse so far. its not like its bad or anything, but its no truffle fries! And the truffle risotto...it tasted more like a ordinary parmesan risotto. i was really disappointed.. so overall, with two truffle risotto, one truffle fries, and two orange juice...it costed us $90. I really just wish it was...
