A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in West Jordan

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. Went through the drive-thru on March 10, 2024 at about 3:30om. Order taker/cashier was rude while taking my order. After arriving at the window, she asked me to pull forward to wait for my order, which I did. Meanwhile THREE vehicles behind me were also asked to pull over and wait. All three received their orders before me. My order was fairly small so I thought that was a bit odd. After waiting patiently for TWENTY MINUTES, I noticed there had been no cars at the window for several minutes, so I put my car in reverse and backed up to the window. Imagine my surprise to see my two drinks sitting right there, MELTING IN THE SUN. The same cashier was right there, and I barely got the out the words “I’ve been waiting 20 minutes” when she handed me the drinks and my bag of food, which had been clearly sitting there for some time (she had NOT been waiting for food to finish cooking). Then she had the sheer audacity to say “I got you” like she was doing me a favor and giving me great service! UNBELIEVABLE! And even though she had read my order back to me correctly when I placed it, it was wrong… so I have to assume she is not only incredibly rude but also incompetent. This person needs to be fired. Completely unacceptable treatment. PS: I was polite to her through the whole process so there was NO EXCUSE for her behavior. AVOID THIS LOCATION. Clearly there is poor management here or someone like her would not...

Got to the drive thru order board just as another car was ordering and pulled forward. I sat for maybe a minute or two before anyone acknowledge I was there and then made me wait another 5 mins before taking my order. Then the waiting continued as I waited another 30 mins for the 4 cars in front of me to receive their orders. When I got to the window I was able to view inside, a bunch of teenagers wandering around like no one knew what was going on. Maybe the owner should invest in an adult shift manager who can keep things in line. After another 5 mins I finally received my food. At least the food was good the fries were hot and the burger was good if not a little salty. Rootbeer was great as always though I asked for no ice and got half a cup full. If you are in a hurry I would suggest finding somewhere...

I’ve been a fan of A&W my whole life, but only go when it’s convenient. Today I was passing by right at lunch time and decided to stop in. There was virtually no customers inside or at the drive thru.

I’m a member of the A&W Mug Club so I had a coupon and even though they didn’t couldn’t scan the code they still honored the deal which was very kind of them.

The staff were welcoming and friendly and the food turned out great, exactly as ordered.

My only disappointment was that the “made fresh daily” A&W rootbeer didn’t come from a tap of its own, and didn’t really seem like it was “made fresh,” but rather the typical bag-in-a-box style of soft drink like any others.
