I grew up in California, this has always been one of my favorite food joints. I was so excited to have one in Utah. I told my fiancé how good this place was and we had to got here. I ordered us my favorite burrito (poblano burrito). I was so stoked I dove right in and got about a 1/4 through my burrito and looked at my fiancé and said it tastes so much better in California. I went in for another bite, this time I got mostly chicken. As I was chewing it, it felt really chewy and lukewarm. I spit it out. The chicken was raw. I opened up the rest of my burrito to discover it was all raw. Not panicking and still defending one of my favorite food joints I requested another burrito. At this time my fiancé was nervous about hers so she opened hers up. As she was picking through her burrito my freshly made one came out. She started seeing raw chicken as well. I told her to bring her burrito what had maybe 3-4 small bites taken out and ask for a fresh one. I waited to dig into mine until she got hers, a few minutes later our 4th burrito was delivered to us. We both opened them up at the same time to check... No joke and not fabricating this at all. Her burrito was completely raw. I told her to rewrap it and let's go home. I told the manager I was going to contact the health department (I did), I asked for a refund and got one.
I showed my soon to be father in law her burrito. With in seconds he noticed the chicken was totally raw and asked where we got it. I told him what happened. I never complain about food, I have worked in the food industry for 10 years. The reason I am complaining this time, I have either been sitting or hugging a toilet for 3 days now. El Pollo Loco, you had a loyal customer who talked highly of you. As of June 2nd 2016, you have lost my support as well as my fiancés and her parents. I hope others read this post before eating at this establishment.

Read moreI love El Pollo Loco. My brother and I go every Friday for lunch and talk about our week as we work on projects together. We mostly get the same thing now that we know and tried most everything on the menu. Randall's favorite is the 3 piece meal, bone in chicken. Mine is either a 2 or 3 piece bone-in meal or the extra chicken tostada salad bowl!!! You can choose thigh and leg or breast and wing combo for a little extra. You get to order 2 sides to go with it. Salad, come slaw, corn, beans are some of them. Then go the salsa bar and stack it with extra onions, Pico and sauces and I'm in heaven!!! They have an avacado sauce that is awesome and a red sauce that is just spicy enough with a delicious flavor to top it all off. You have a choice between 2 flour or corn tortillas and warmed to perfection. However, this time I ordered the 4 piece bone in because I wanted to take half home for lunch tomorrow. I don't always finish and take a small bowl home but always run out of chicken. They claim a half chicken with the 4 piece so I was expecting some very good portions. When I got it, it wasn't any more meat than the 3 piece because you get 2 chicken breasts when you order the breast and wing combo. When you order the 4 piece, I got 1 breast, 1 thigh, 1 wing and 1 leg. Half a chicken! I won't make that mistake again. For the extra money, I figure I only got 2 extra corn tortillas. Disappointed!!! I only took a little home instead of what I was expecting. Still, the flavor is amazing and I think the word is getting out because lunch that day was very busy. Read moreDo not go to this location. They will rip you off by taking your money and shorting your order because they are ALWAYS out of chicken! Mind you - they are supposed to be a chicken house. This is not the first time they did not have the chicken required for their own menu selections - the BIG DIFFERENCE is the last time this happened, they actually made up the missing pieces with other pieces. This time, I was only given a thigh and leg ONE OF EACH - see pic. This was supposed to be a 1/2 chicken order I paid for! See that pic. I have called, and left a written note for the management and they have completely ignored my inquiries. I would like to also let everyone know the on-site manager is rude and does not care about customers. On the date I was shorted and fully charged, I had asked for a discount and she laughed at me and said NO! Go to another El Pollo. Force this location to close. They need to get their act together and deliver WHAT CUSTOMERS PAY FOR! In closing, the drive through lady "Lisseth" also found this entire situation funny! When she laughed at me for my discount question, I replied "I am going to write a bad review and list you in the review" she actually told me she does not care at all!
