I'm an adult... Trust me, it hurts to attempt to admit that! But, I was talking with a few coworkers and we were looking for a fun place to visit that had arcades, and bowling, but no alcohol. Luckily, we found this place and we were excited to test it out.
We knew we were going to visit this place, about two weeks in advance; I decided to make a call, to see if I needed reservation. I called them and told them that they would be 8 to 9 people, and asked if we would need to make a reservation, for people that many. The person that answered my call told me they would put me on hold, to find a supervisor to talk to about this. (I wasn't on hold for very long.) Then, someone answered the phone, and I told them I had a group of friends and we are going to have a small party, and asked if I needed to make a reservation. ... I was then told that all reservations were made online and that they hope that answered my question. So I went online, and all I could find was birthday party reservations... We weren't going for a birthday... So we all decided to just show up and test our luck.
From the outside looking in, it looks great! ... When you're inside, at least at night, it looks like a blast! There were so many different options of what to do with our time, that we thought it would be a blast.
Upon showing up, we decided to have pizza first... I asked for water, and they charged me $1 to fill up a soda cup with water... That bugged me. My friend was charged $4 for a bottled fountain soda, but I didn't mind too much ... I was just still trying to process why they charged me for cheap water. We paid $20 for a large BBQ chicken pizza, and it was actually pretty good! I was happy with that. (Being charged for water still was bugging me though.)
After we finished our food, we wanted to go play the arcade games. You have to buy digital arcade coins, on a card, and the machines only accept cash. (It would be MUCH easier if you didn't need the coins, and could just pay cash.) "Big Buck HD wild" was the first one we tried to play... After putting roughly $4 of arcade coins in it, it wasn't responding to anything. At this point, we had to go to customer service to take a look at the machine, which turned out to be broken. (Luckily they refunded me that I put into it.)
From here, I went to play Jurassic Park, echo after playing it for 2 minutes, it shut down. (I was irritated enough, and didn't have the energy to go complain again.)
We then tried out a handful of the other games, and didn't have any issues. (Outside of the fact that I suck at almost all of them. Haha!)
I had 6 "digital play coins" left, and decided to play one last game... I put the card on it, it accepted 4 of my 6 last coins... Then the game froze and reset. It was at this point, that I decided it was time to go home.
I will probably come back, but my expectations of excitement won't be as they were initially. I would like to try the laser tag, as well as the mini golf. But I'm a bit let down with the arcade games. The pizza was still pretty...
Read moreI came here for my nephew's birthday. My mother-in-law paid to have a party there for two hours for I think $100. I could be wrong on price, it could have been more than that. I saw online that we couldn't bring in our own food and drinks. I called about their menu and everything they said is something that our doctor told my husband and I could not to eat. I asked if we could be exempt from the rule since we are under medical orders. Also the rest of the party would be ordering from the menu. I was told by the manager, Karen, that we should eat before or after the party. "This is a policy." Airborne across the street has the same policy but is very accommodating in these matters.
I already had a bad taste in my mouth about this company, thanks to Karen, when we entered. Yes, that is her real name. We get inside and it is complete chaos. Luckily my in-laws came earlier than my husband and I. They found someone about where the party was going to be held. We go up stairs to find a door. We open it to find a huge white room with white tables and chairs. Five rows of four long tables pushed together and some round tables on the other side. We actually closed the door to look and find the party room to find that, that was the party room. It felt like a business party room/insane asylum without the straight jackets and padding. There was nothing welcoming or inviting. Where other places like Airborne had colorful, individual, party rooms. Here everyone shares one large room. It got very loud in there. My favorite was when the staff said that they weren't expecting us to come in five minutes early to set up for the party and didn't have our tables ready.
Instead of asking for the party's order prior to coming and how many guests were coming for wrist bands and game cards. We had to gather everyone up and take them downstairs in the obscenely long line. Luckily my mother-in-law had us walk to the front of the line. The games were over priced, no signs about where to get golf balls for the mini golf. We waited an hour for food. My husband and I sat at the side awkwardly since we weren't allowed to eat with the family. Again, medical professional's orders, we could have packed my husband and I a lunch and be able to eat with them. The adults and the kids were miserable.
Go to Airborne across the street if you want a fun party. Rush Funplex focuses on the rush of the dollar and not the fun. I have already told multiple families not to come here. They too are disgusted about everything that...
Read morePeyton, the kid working the counter…. He was super cool, very helpful, extremely responsive and showed up when no one was there.. he was almost like magic. My family and I went on a Thursday and pretty much had the place to ourselves. We are from Arizona and I expected to spend an arm and a leg for a place like this but that wasn’t the case. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a genuinely smiling kid of the name Payton, in my experience you walk in go to the counter and the kids just wait for you to choose a package when you have no idea what you’re looking at and pay. He let us know about the package for 90 minutes at 1900 dollars per person and you could do anything. Mini golf, bumper cars, go carts, bowling, a rock wall, a high swingy thing that you fall into a pit amdddd laser tag. We did ALL OF THIS in 90 minutes. It was so much fun. As I said earlier before there was barely anyone there and barely any one working, as I waited for laser tag Payton opened the door to greet us and helped us with instructions. The inside of the laser tag dome was so clean and updated it lasted 5 minutes but the work out was real. Afterwards we decided we would like to play a bowling game there was no one at the counter which didn’t matter because as I started to look around I saw Payton running from the laser tag room to help me. That was really cool, because since we were being timed his help assured that we got the BEST EXPERIENCE! Bowling had all the bells and whistles choice of shoes or your own shoes, nice bowling balls, bumper rails for kids, and an assist Dino ball drop.We played 1 full game not to mention there was great music something for everyone. Originally it was a silent bowling alley but as I walked back to the counter greeted by Payton I asked if there was any music and he kindly put the beat on. When I think of it I sound dreadful but the experience was awesome and even if I was an annoying dreadful customer ( I doubt it) he did not let me know this at all. After all this adventure I bought 1 gaming card for my two kids for 20 bucks which got us 100 etokens, so worth it. we used this somewhat wisely and racked up320 tickets. This place was awesome, and made my trip to Utah even better and it was indeed NOT a rip off. I didn’t have the food so I can’t speak on that. However the place was very clean and that’s a plus in my book. Thank RUSH FUN PLEX and...
