The best thing to happen to West Jordan's hotel industry ever! Great soft open. Jump on it folks! The rates will surely rise! THEY ARE NOT GOING TO PUT UP WITH TRANSIENTS! Period. Hard stop! They have the right to refuse service and those who attempt to make this into another hotel row in Murray. It ain't happening! No switching ids and all that other garbage you do at la Quinta in Murray! Or even worse the Motel 6 next door which should be condemned after you annihilated the hotel with your blues and your pinks and your rainbow bath salts laced with fentanyl. Take it elsewhere because you're not welcome in West Jordan folks. Anyhow, special thanks to Tristian, the smartest 18 year old I've ever met. And of course the lovely Emilee! Incredible women! Perfect fit for the this hotel. Really any hotel! So to management fast track these two phenomenal women onto your management training program! They both are confident and competent! Here's the best part! They're compassionate and kind as well. Very difficult to find folks with that beautiful balance. I believe with the proper management training opportunity they are what my circle deems a triple threat! Support our women gang! Do not even let these two get away from you! You'd be doing yourselves, these women and this entire operation a total disservice! There's another woman who is management who is actually very competent but seemingly a bit prickly demeanor. Again with the proper training and molding I think you'd even find balance with this particular person. And being a woman in Utah is very difficult folks! At times seemingly impossible. I've been writing for 35 years. I've been acting for 35 years! Ive been all over our beautiful country. From my home town in the Bay Area, to Los Angeles, to New York, San Francisco, Atlanta and even Kentucky. And absolutely nowhere is it like it is here Utah for women. It's extraordinarily difficult for us gals. Misogyny run amok if you will. I encourage you to BE the difference and when we seem unknowingly lacking in confidence. Well that's when we need our male counterparts to step up for us to let us know that we are valuable! Invaluable! That we matter and we're 100% supported! These two gems are the gift that keeps giving! I never mince my words. I had a professor at UC Berkeley tell me to stop apologizing for being me. Heck it has taken me 35 years to get this concept. I still find myself apologizing. And 35 years later my professor, the Dean of students at Cal and now the Dean of students at Barnard College. We’re Friends to this day. Family really at this juncture in time. Anyway, per usual W.B. Worthen, now just Bill to me! When I have doubts he's always been my cheerleader and coach! He keeps my writing honest and still uses that dang red sharpie to edit anything I forward to him! Oh and one last person, Ethan! He's the hardest working maintenance manager l've ever seen! He's here right now at midnight and I guarantee you he'll be here at 7am when I grab my morning latte! He'll be at the front desk with very little sleep with a smile on his face! He's a keeper guys! A gentle giant! Thanks Ethan! Oh yeah Google folks the coffee is complementary. And I would liken it to Peet's coffee. And thats high praise from this Bay...
Read moreService here is garbage. First, they only do room service every 2 weeks. I ran into the cleaning lady in the hallway as she was cleaning the room literally right across from me, and asked if she would clean my room... you know, since she was literally in the process of making her rounds and had her cleaning cart. I open my door, and even gave her the courtesy of sticking a chair in the doorway to keep it open for her and asked if she would mind cleaning my room, and she straight up told me no. I figured " okay, she doesn't speak a lick of english, surely this is some kind of misunderstanding. Surely there's no way the cleaning service lady is going to tell a customer she's not going to clean their room when he opens the door for her and makes it easier to do so and she's already cleaning other rooms, I must be misunderstanding". So I let it go. Sure enough, I get to my room Sunday night and the room isn't clean. I figure whatever, I'll let the front desk know and they'll have it cleaned tomorrow. I go to work Monday and I get back and it's still not cleaned. The counters are still dirty, and the floors have not been swept or mopped. So I called the front desk again and they tell me that the cleaning ladies are trained not to touch anything while they clean, everything has to be set aside or they won't touch it. Makes sense, my bad. So I said everything on my counter to the side, as is shown in the picture. I get home Tuesday night and it's still not clean at this point I called the front desk and explained everything to the person working that night. They told me it was unacceptable, and they would be passing it along to the regional manager. Wednesday comes and goes, no call from the regional manager, my room is still not cleaned. At this point, I'm upset. I told the front desk what happened, and they told me they did their best to draw attention to it and have the regional manager talk to me, and still nothing. Here it is thursday night, and the cleaning ladies are claiming that I didn't clean the counters off well enough for them to clean. How much more can I clean off the counters? Can you not just clean the area that I cleared off expressly for the purpose of it being cleaned? I've also heard mentions of them being short-staffed. Not my problem, they don't mind charging full price for my room. I'm glad I'm not here on my dime, but I know for sure they're never going to get a cent out of me after this.
And what kind of hotel has a regional manager that doesn't even look into a...
