On 11/17/2022 in the afternoon at around 5PM, I went through the drive-thru to order the 12-piece Tenders Bundle for approximately $28. The person who took my order through the speaker had very poor communication. I was in a rush, so I didn't have time to get my order rectified, so I end up getting what I didn't ask for. Considering that there was no line inside nor in the drive-thru, this was an extremely unsatisfactory experience. I had wanted all of my chicken tenders to be spicy. The ordertaker somehow interpreted that as me wanting half of the tenders to be spicy and the other half mild. They did not even bother to split the mild and spicy tenders into separate boxes, which made it a haphazard experience eating the tenders. I had asked for three of sauces, regardless of whether or not I would have had to have been charged for it and ended up with two servings of some sauces and only one serving of the other sauces and on top of that, they did not ask if I would have liked honey or butter for my biscuits. The fries were extremely soft, limp, and greasy. Surprisingly, the food wasn't even the dealbreaker; the egregiously substandard customer service was. When I pulled up to pay for my food, I did not receive a greeting. The first thing I was told when I pulled up was the amount my order was. The workers here made it feel like no one here is valued as a customer and is only seen as a machine with money. When I was handed my food, I was not even given a smile or thanked for ordering. After I was handed my food, the workers made no attempt to give me a valediction or farewell. Due to the incredibly deplorable food coupled with the heedlessness of the workers, I will never be eating at...
Read moreOrdered delivery on the popeyes app and it came quickly, but we got the wrong order (we ordered 2 tenders meals and got 1 chicken sandwich meal). I called the store and they didnt pick up after 5 minutes of ringing which then went to a busy signal. I called again and did get someone who I then explained what had happened to. I was accused of lying because "there is no way to order delivery on the popeyes app at this location". I said I understand that, but that I was able to and that I just wanted the food we ordered. They continually stated that I must have ordered through a delivery service and to call them. I stated it was definitely through their app and would prove it if needed. They had me drive to their store and bring the food we got. When I got their I was greeted by the manager who continued to not believe me. I then showed them our order in the popeyes app, showed it was their store and was delivery as well as how we got the wrong food. The manager then asked for the food and aggressively threw it in the garbage and proceeded to abruptly ask "well what do you want?!" I replied that I just wanted the food we ordered (frankly with how I'd been treated and the fact that I had to come in person to prove I wasnt just trying to get free food on a delivery order which I paid more for, and was still treated like I was lying - I should have asked for something). I was then given the smallest tenders we've ever gotten from there (we go fairly regularly, sometimes multiple times a month) and practically shoved out the door. Horrendously terrible...
Read moreHad my first experience with a Popeye's last week. Can't say I was surprised to get on here and see other poor reviews. I hit up the drive thru and the service was excellent. That's about where the good stopped. I ended up getting a shrimp and fish meal and wasn't terribly impressed with the amount of food for what I paid. It wasn't too awful, but the last thing on my mind was how good of a deal I just got. My meal was almost twice what I'd typically pay for a comparable amount of food at a competing chain.
Then, there was the food... The shrimp and fish were about 3/4 batter, and 1/4 what you might call the "meat," though it was so lacking I can't confirm if there was actually any meat under all the breading. The "fish" itself was less than about 1/8" thick, with a 1/4" of batter on each side. It was unreal. Not only that, but the batter was extremely salty, to the point that it was kind of burning my mouth. The fish was definitely more salty than the shrimp, but both were pretty bad. I'm not a stranger to salty fast food, but this about took the cake.
The mac and cheese wasn't awful, and I actually kind of enjoyed it. It almost had an evaporated milk taste to it, which some people really may not like. It was different.
The biscuit wasn't terrible, but wasn't all that great. It was about as salty as the fish though. Couldn't believe how much salt was in this food.
Overall, I can't say I'd recommend this chain, though I'm open to trying some of their other items to hopefully discover that the seafood fare was a one-time fluke. ...
