I originally gave a one star review but I'm rewriting my review.
This was my first time going to this particular Popeyes and the first impression wasn't great. I sat in the drive through with only one car ahead of me and waited 15 minutes before the person in front of me's order was taken. Fortunately when it was my time to order I was able to get it in fairly quickly especially because it was a mobile order.
After placing my order the car ahead of me got their food quickly, and my food was ready when I pulled up, which was a positive experience.
I was nervous about what the quality of the food would be, but to my surprise everything but the biscuit was of good quality. The breading on my chicken tenders had good color, which tells me the oil was fresh, the chicken juicy and, my fries were crispy. The biscuit was a bit hard around the edges but tasted fine, I sum that up to the short staffing of this store, so I don't blame the employees for that.
My order was accurate and the only real issue with my order is that I was only given two blackened ranch, despite paying for five. However, the staff member did make up for this by providing me signature sauce. My assumption is they might've run out of blackened ranch and I appreciate the attention to detail and care for making up the difference (when I received my bag it already had all of the sauces, I didn't need to ask, which tells me the employee was attentive).
The employee working the window/speaker (he appeared to be a manager) was polite which I commend given the poor circumstances he was in. I didn't see any other employees but I suspect there was maybe only one or two more working. There was also someone in the lobby which probably explains the wait as his attention was split and possibly also preparing the food.
Sometimes service and food quality issues are a result of the employees, however, I don't believe they to be true in this case. If the store was better staffed I don't think any of my negative experiences would've happened.
All in all, this Popeyes should improve staffing and training for some of their employees and most of the gripes myself and others have had would probably go away. I worked in fast food for two years so I understand whet it is like to be in the position of their employees–stuck with no help and unrelenting customers.
To the employees working the night of September 18, 2025 thank you for doing the...
Read moreHighly disappointed. I decided that I eat at and like Popeyes enough to establish an online account (I am not an app type guy). The app was good and I placed my order and scheduled a pick up time 50 minutes out. Upon arriving at my pick up time, I walk in the lobby and a women in the kitchen area yells (I thought maybe because of noise in the kitchen and she didn't realize she was yelling) that it is drive up only. I saw the drive up line was extremely long and didn't have time to wait. So I asked if I could just cancel, she started obviously yelling at me this time that I needed to go through the drive up for any help and points out that there are children in the lobby that are watching me (not sure why the 2 kids where there, probably one of the employee's kids); as if I was the one doing something wrong. I could find no means of cancelling the prepaid order from my phone, so I waited for 45 more minutes in the drive thru line. In hindsight, I should have called my credit card company and halted the payment, but didn't think about that at the time. Instead I filed a complaint online (while waiting in the drive thru) to Popeyes and they said sorry, here is a $5 coupon for next time. LOL. What a slap in the face, as the complaint was filed against that particular order, so they knew that it was way more than $5. Lesson learned: I will certainly not go to the Palm Bay Road location in West Melbourne ever again. I still like Popeyes and will probably still go to the 192 location (though less than before) and other sites when out of town. I will however make sure to pay onsite and never prepay. I will also not bother to try to remedy the situation online again as it isn't...
Read moreHere is the breakdown of our experience. We made an online order. It took 10 minutes to get to restaurant. We waited in a drive-thru line around the building, because dining room was closed. At the speaker, there was no greeting, but we heard talking in the restaurant. I said hello and someone they would be right with me.After a few minutes, they asked for my order. I gave my order number and name at the speaker. Then waited a bit again to get to the window. At window, they were discussing my online order and it wasn't ready. They made my drink and then eventually handed me a big bag of our food. I get home and they forgot our mashed potatoes. So I head back and had to try calling 3 times before someone answered. He apologized for the inconvenience and said it would be ready when I got there. When I got there I went around by the main door and called again, because the line was still long in the drive thru. I gave, the girl who answered, my name and explained that I came back for my missing potatoes and I want waiting in this line again. She said the live wasn't that long. I told her that I was behind a car that was by the main door and not to tell me the line wasn't long. She brought my potatoes out, but didn't apologize or offer anything. This was the same girl that was running the drive-thru the first time. I didn't catch her name. Now, I understand a restaurant being busy and maybe even short-handed. I would have even been okay after getting the rest of my order, even if I was a little annoyed at the inconvenience. However, when that girl lied about the line being long, the was insulting and rude.. We will never eat at this...
