We just left the Woodys at 2227 W New Heaven in West Melbourne for a lunch, my husband, our kid, and I, today, April 23rd, 2023 around 1-2pm.
A waitress wearing a black mask over charged us twice in two illusory items.
The first wrong item added that we noticed was "Decaf" in the receipt attached. We called the waitress who immediately gave us $2 and explained that it is easier for her to give us that money instead correct the receipt.
The second wrong item added, we saw before leaving the table, she added a extra $2 in my dish that I ordered but brisket is included in the menu and it doesn't mention any additional cost. When I ordered, I just ask for BBQ Salad and beef instead pork or chicken among the 3 options for meat.
We got up of the table to question that with her, and another waitress came and asked us. She opened the Menu and told us that brisket is not included. But that information is not mentioned in the Menu, ie, there is no any additional cost but she kept telling that there is a extra cost.
How embarrassing situation.
For us, or any consumer, if it is not mentioned in the Menu or during the ordering, it's dishonesty.
The waitress with mask arrived and got surprised with the second complaining and immediately gave us other $2.
It was $4 total of mistakes over 2 items. Pretty small amount but we didn't feel good with that. We didn't listen any sorry.
Very weird. I called the manager 2 hours later and he told me that didn't know that in the BBQ Salad is not mentioned extra cost to brisket in the menu.
I told to the manager that Tax and Tip were charged over a wrong value, and the fact the waitress gave us the money back from the her pocket, it wasn't correct instead fixing the receipt.
I mentioned that is a humiliation and no hygienic to a waitress have to give money back instead fixing the computer issue, since as a waitress, serving meals, she should never touch money if not washing hands immediately after.
Also, I commented that we are very surprised of the fact that he as manager doesn't know those mistakes of the extra cost of brisket. He told it is due the administration of the franchise.
He was rude, interrupted me, and turned the phone off before I finished. He showed how he don't care to improve his management. The manager sounds that don't love his work and doesn't give training to the workers.
We used to eat there often monthly. We don't feel...

Just for record, I tip for good service since I worked the food industry for a number of years. If the experience is bad or terrible you tip appropriately. You do not take out on the customer and chase them in the parking lot to their car. harassing your customers after they pay the bill, is very unprofessional. i usually tip at woody's and there are some great servers there....one being rene, who we wished we had this evening for my fathers birthday dinner. she knows what a server must do and does it. i am afraid the new server we had this evening was not trained or not trained properly. That is not her fault. Tipping is low to high depending upon the service received. it is not mandatory nor required for just showing up. when service is extrodinary, (and i reference rene, as she is a excellent), tipping should be. tonight someone ran out to our car in the parking lot yelling at us and complaining that i did not tip. i tipped what was appropriate for service received. sorry that she was a newbie and im even more sorry she was not trained properly. having some other employee run out into the parking lot telling us not to come back to woodys because poor service resulted in no tip, is not appropriate and totally unprofessional
I've been coming to woody's for ten years and never have had such a horrendous experience like tonight. This woman who thought it was a good idea to yell at my father and me for not tipping because service was less than adequate..... we have always tipped whenever we have come to woody's! Until tonight. we have never had an experience like tonight... and i told that privately to rene, on the way out. we told rene that in the future we wont enter the restaurant unless she is present. she is that good. the unprofessional behavior of the woman (in pink sweater) that was yelling at me and my father in the parking lot was totally wrong. she is an embarrassment to woody's restaurant.
To rene, you are an awesome server as are all the servers that previously had served us the past years. training in the serving business is required and i say that now...
Read moreOnly my second visit to a Woody's. Both visits were at this location.
I stopped in for a solo dinner on a recent Tuesday night, 7:25 PM. The place was not busy at all. After ordering and beginning to eat I overheard the fact that they close at 8 PM. I did notice a small temp sign on the door as I was leaving listing the closing time at 8. I hadn't seen it on the way in.
Before I finished eating the crew was sweeping, mopping, putting bar stools up and doing their closing work. My receipt time says 8:16, that's when I paid and left.
I passed a family on my way out that was getting out of their car. I told them Woody's closes at 8. They, too, were surprised and said they'd checked online and it said 9. Disappointed, they got back into their car and left.
Funny, but all of Woody's online presence; Facebook, Yelp, Website still give the closing time at 9 PM. Even if the new hours are just temporary, it would be so helpful to change them online. Would sure help a lot of folks.
Okay, enough complaining. My visit was handled by Kaitlin and she did a superb job! She was very pleasant and handled my dining experience like a pro.
I ordered the 'A Taste of Woody's' combo, for $16.99. That's a platter of spare ribs, BBQ pork, Texas beef brisket, smoked turkey breast, smoked sausage and BBQ chicken, with fries and BBQ beans as sides. A WHOLE lotta food, folks! But, I figured this way I can sample everything worth samplin! I was NOT disappointed! I really enjoyed the smokey good flavors on the variety of textures and tastes. Darn fine BBQ at a decent price!
