Dear Paris Baguette team , your staff in West New York especially lady Kamila or something like that ( Afro American ) extremely rude . I came second time today at 7pm . She was saying me (with pissed face and look at me with no smile , no greeting , no explanation on friendly manner ) that they actually closed clearly hinting me to get out . But I was following Google map and it’s not my fault that they mentioned different hours . I don’t mind to leave if they are closed. Instead of explaining with love and smile , she just say “ we actually closed , we are removing all food so…..” . She dasnt even know how to approach to customers . She probably hates her job if her face always angry and pissed . First time I came across few weeks ago , she was pissed as well , no greeting as usual ( it surprised me , cuz staff there always friendly) , cuz we came late evening . I took a pastry and waited on 1st ( cashier station) she came to 2nd station then she said “ you need to pay here “ , on the 2nd ( cashier station) . No greeting , no “hey guys please come here” , no basic manners , no smile . Me and my boyfriend didn’t feel welcome at all . After I tried to put my tweezers on cashier area trying to find a tray and she with extremely unfriendly manner said to me “ here , just leave here “ , being upset that she has to do an extra effort to open her mouth and direct me . I feel like her “ job” is doing me and my bf favor by serving us . This time I entered and gave to my fav coffe shop a second chance . But this lady working on “ Thanksgiving day “ ruining holiday vibes . She is impolite , feeling too lazy to do her work on a proper way , she is too comfortable talking to customers without any care and sympathy , she is there not to help people , she is there just to show her mean personality. I know her job well as I worked in coffee shop as a barista . It’s not easy to stand whole day and smile to people but that the job . I really don’t understand how your company keeping such staff who dasnt love people cuz all your job is about “people”. Few weeks ago when I met her for first time , she was acting mean in front of the manager who was checking google reviews on the laptop and I thought “ ok , there is a hope , if he can’t see the way she is acting at least he can read my review and find a way to fix this issue”. I want to keep coming to this brunch cuz other staff members are sweet , all guys are super sweet and humble . I bought 7 items and got charged for 9 items, when I went back to the store, the manager knew immediately which item was over charged and processed a credit before i was able to tell them there were actually two items that were charged incorrectly. Only then they checked my items in the bag against my receipt and found the 2nd item that was randomly charged and processed a 2nd credit. It happened so fast that it feels like the store does it all the time and is intending to scam people this way, as few people ask for paper receipt nowadays. When I asked the manager, she said it is due to lack of attention, but didn’t really blame the cashier. I feel like the whole crew is in this scam together.
Owner should look into this fraudulent team!
Update on 6/29: I live in the neighborhood, I really wanted this store to stay and thrive, so I was giving the owner the benefit of doubt to help his/her management of the operation, however after getting the standard reply and seeing you quote the scam as a misunderstanding, and asking me to reach out to you for further discussion, I now feel like the owner probably knows everything going. I asked him to heat the croissants, but he told me that he doesn't heat almond and chocolate croissants. After a while, some customers came asking for pastries, and they were heated. I ignored them, so the employee took the orders of more than five customers and left. Then he brought me my coffee order and left the latte. I waited for more than five minutes, and when I asked him about my order, he said that it was ready but he left it inside with him. Then he brought it. I don't know if this behavior was racist or uncivilized, knowing that it is my favorite coffee, but this is my first visit to this branch and the last time I hear comments talking about the employees here.
