My experience was both good and bad. The bad first. I came here on a Friday, at 11:40am - before the lunch crowd (the place gets crowded). There were plenty of empty tables both on the inside and outside. I was a party of 1. The hostess told me she could seat me in the bar. No. I don't want to sit in the bar. She then told me I could sit at a high-top in the bar. No thanks, I want a table outside (what part of NO was unclear?). We argued back and forth and she then told me there were no tables for just ONE (big lie) I had eaten here before with friends and the food was so good, I wanted to stay - despite her insistence I sit at the bar. So, she leads me around to the high-top bar area where I had to walk thru a cloud of cancer smoke from a guy smoking at the bar (I don't smoke and don't want to sit in smoke). I sat at the high-top at the bar. My server (Autumn, who was FANTASTIC), was also the bartender and had to lean over the bar to hand me stuff. It was so unbelievably annoying to have to sit there at a high top with people smoking and drinking - while the outside had plenty of open tables - apparently, just not for me! It ruined the great ambiance here.
On to the GOOD. Again, service was fantastic. Autumn was super nice and efficient. I ordered the hippie salad and left off something and got a different dressing than comes with it - both those requests were perfectly accommodated. I had had that salad before and this time I got it in a wrap. It came out quickly and was delicious. The wrap is a little pricey considering it is meatless, at $15 - and does not come with any sides. But, still very good. Even on this hot day, there was a very nice breeze blowing through the restaurant; it was nice.
I was done eating by 12:20 and walked over to the water, passing the outdoor area - which STILL had open tables I could have enjoyed my lunch it. The first time I ate here was with friends and it was such a positive experience, I was disappointed that the second time I came by myself, I was seated where I didn't want to be. I wish I had left and not given my business to them, but that salad was so good, and I was hungry.
This restaurant has valet parking and there is street parking all around the restaurant with fancy-looking meters; I couldn't have possibly figured out how to work one. I parked in an hourly garage very close, less than a block away. I am not sure if there is a charge for the valet parking.
Bradley's is clean, and friendly, and the service was good both times here. It's a very big place and very popular and I can see why - as long if you don't come alone and mind sitting with someone blowing cigarette...
Read moreDINERS BEWARE!!!!!!! Come here to be deceived and robbed of your money!! Let me start off by saying that the food here was great, the atmosphere was enjoyable with the intercostal breeze. When the time came to cash out I asked for the check, the server happily took my card and asked if I wanted a copy of my check even though I had no idea what anything costed (red flag no 1). I get an alert on my phone from my credit card company - $76 for one person; two drinks, one meal (red flag no 2). I thought to myself wow that’s a lot, but maybe I’m just being cheap. The servers “ASKS” if I wanted a copy of my check, my answer is pretty obvious, Ummmm, of course I do!! I go to the bathroom and finally get a copy of my check but to my surprise my sister, whom I had dined with, had informed me that the server had pre-filled out our tip of 24% without our authorization!!! The young girl had literally/physically signed for us!!!! I’m sorry but even though times are tough, that is an outrageous amount to assume someone would be agreeable to. I then complained to the manager and ended up leaving her a $0 tip. With that being said, if you dine here, you’ll have good food and drinks but make sure to ask for a paper copy of your check before handing over your card/money, and be aware of Alexandria because she’ll gladly fill out your tab with her 24% “suggested” gratuity. This was super disappointing because the entire dining experience was enjoyable but very disappointing in the server; The manager handled it professionally and was more than apologetic. I asked for corporate’s number but was informed that it is family owned so I will be complaining to the owner about their server Alexandria about her deceitful tactics and charging people for an exorbitant amount for a tip without the guest’s knowledge. DINERS...
Read moreAnother update on my review and I'm adding some stars back in. Bradley's has brought some decent bands in and they're committing to having music pretty much every night. I stopped by after a city event and there was a great band called Guavatron Playing, sort of a jam band vibe, and it kept me there for a set and a half. While I was there, I finally tried their new Hawaiian shaved ice and it was great.
I see that I missed to response back from radley's on my last review edit so I will give him a call and mention it I did improve my rating, give him their commitment to live music, which is rare these days.
Updating review, going from 5 star to one. I stopped by after a community concert close by and they had an absolutely amazing band from Jamaica called EarthKry so I decided to hang.
Sat down in the grassy area and caught a waiter's eye and asked for a menu. He finally brought one but never came back. So I thought maybe I needed to go the the entrance.amd get seated (they had a bunch of tables in front of the band). The hostess told me they wouldn't seat a single person and suggested the bar. Fine, I thought, and so I found a place at the bar After a couple of minutes of being ignored I finally left... Went to Roxy's (which was VERY busy but I got a beer and my order placed very quickly.
I probably got a better sandwich, a better beer, and Bradley's lost close to $40 in F&B and tip. I'm writing this review while watching the band finish up.
I would have rather been here all night, but apparently Bradley's didn't care.
