Where to start. We booked the airstream for 8, two weeks in advance and received a confirmation phone call. When we called day of, just to confirm again, we were told it was double booked, and not available for us. We then asked to talk to a manager. The Executive Chef was the manager who responded. His response was non-apologetic at all. His literal words were “stuff happens.” So Saturday night in season and to late in the day to book a table of 8 anywhere else. We reluctantly took a table of 8 outside beside the airstream. Big slap in the face. So they got us a table of 8 outside and our server was not experienced enough to handle the task. We all order our drinks and it took at least 15 minutes to get anything at the table. Finally after many disappearing acts she came back with a lackluster attitude to get some type of food order. We all ordered first course appetizers, there were only 5 in total and it took 35 minutes to receive them. In that time we barley saw her. We spilled some water she kind of wiped it. We actually had to get the bartender to come out and finish wiping the table and give us a few straws. Our reservation was for 6:00 it is now 7:30 and we are just getting apps. Menus still on the table in front of us. After we ate the apps, we sat there an additional 15 minutes waiting for her to come take our dinner orders and clear our dirty plates and hopefully refill our drinks( which never happened for me the entire night). I ordered Salmon and she said would you like that medium and I responded, that would be perfect. So the food took a good 25 minutes. I received my salmon and it was cooked all the way through. I didn’t bother to send it back. Out of 8 people 7 of us received our entrees. We all finished our meals and there was one of us who still had not received her meal of eggplant parm I believe. They brought her fried zucchini to tide her over , which was horrible and lukewarm. It tasted like a fryer that needed the oil to be changed and was very dark. The same went for the boneless chicken wings we had earlier. We wanted to pay our bill and leave but again no waitress to be found. Finally 8:30ish she got around to getting us our bill. I think we actually left at around 8:45. So we sat there for 2 hours and 45 minutes. It was a very unpleasant experience. To make it worse, all of us are in the restaurant hospitality business. So we understand what should have been done in this situation and nothing was done. Absolutely nothing. I will be posting this review in every forum I can find. More and more I see this restaurant group failing in customer service as well as food quality. It is a great example of one person growing do big that the important things like customer service and food quality are falling between the cracks without any care at all. That being said the one restaurant in the group that excells in both food and...
Read moreFour of us stopped here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon while on our way to Palm Beach International Airport after finding a Groupon valued for $30 worth of food costing only $16. There isn't a ton of signage on the building, so it was a bit difficult to spot at first, but we did end up finding it none-the-less. The restaurant itself is has a rustic pub style front with two large windows that open inward, allowing the rock and pop-culture icon themed decor to flow out into an inviting patio outside with an overall hip/trendy ambiance. We were seated and greeted by a friendly waiter who did a very nice job assisting us in finding the right drinks that each of us would enjoy. My wife and I ordered the Fire Roasted Brussels as an appetizer, which were VERY TASTY and in a portion size more closely resembling what you would find in Europe, rather than their American counterpart (just enough for the two of us, without being so much you felt obligated to feel miserable later, but not so little you would leave hungry). I ordered, at the suggestion of our waiter, the Slow Roasted Pork Sandwich with zucchini chips and my wife ordered the supreme pizza. Both were quite delicious and again, not too large or too small of portion sizes. I will say, they did forget to hold two ingredients on my wife's pizza, per her request however; it was still very good and due to time constraints, we were not in a place to wait for a corrected order so we shrugged it off and didn't say anything. Overall a very good experience other than the mishap with the pizza (which was still very good) and the patrons behind us who allowed their dog to bark at nearly everyone and everything that passed on the sidewalk (I am not sure at what point the business should step in and say something, but in my opinion it reached that point several times during our visit). I would 100% eat here again when in the area and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good bite to eat at a fair price, especially when used in conjunction...
Read moreHullabaloo is a very unusual and distinctive place. It does seem to be trendy in the area, since it was much busier here than in all adjacent establishments that day; and no surprise - this place has some good stuff to offer.
Although the interior looked a little hipster and lofty, it is quite simple and cozy at the same time. I have to mention here, they have an open kitchen, but there was not a bit of a smoke or smell in the air - the exhaust is done really well. Everyone in the kitchen was smiling, and seemed to enjoy what they were doing in there. In general, all the personnel there was very nice, and the service was top-notch.
Now to what I liked best, which is the menu; both on paper, and on the table. I liked the categories' names on it; but the main part is, that there are a lot of quite unusual items on it, check it out ! Being not super hungry, we got a top item off either column - Charcuterie Board and Crimini Mushroom pizza; both of which had 1 very special ingredient - truffle honey. It is just amazing, I loved it! The pizza was fresh and crusty, goat cheese mixed up with mushrooms and blended into the asiago cream sauce up to the perfection, at the same time the crust didn't get soggy and that's the way it has to be done.
Beer and wine selection is relatively wide too, although there is something stands to mention. Beers are served in like 8oz glasses, so the whole can doesn't fit in it. Then the cans take room on the tables, because servers aren't taking them - they don't know whether they're empty or not yet. Moreover, its little catchy pricewise when you get a draft. I can't say that's a big drawback, but it would've been great if you guy get regular glasses.
In general, super nice place with outstanding atmosphere. I you're reading this and thinking whether it worth visiting, so hell...
