Had a Groupon about to expire so we went on a Thurs night. Cool, casual, cozy and semi trendy bar, down from Respectables. The crowd was a range of ages and various types of ppl. They have Bud Light aluminum tall cans for $2 and several craft beers and taps. There's a small grill in the back that cooks up some awesome tacos! Never thought of squash in a taco but it was the BEST! The brisket and chicken were tasty too. Also ordered the Yuca fries, that I can't say was impressive.( Tasted like wedge home style potato fries.) You can also get grilled corn, nachos, chips and salsa and quesadillas. Place your order at the bar and wait for the bell. They have a huge assortment of hot sauces to choose from on the wall. There's several pool tables ($2) and one large table you can rent ($15)hr. Vintage, stand-up arcade games, bar shuffleboard, foosball and a jukebox that plays CD's. The front is open with 2 long high-top tables next to large sectional sofas to lounge on. The outside seating (for smokers)was perfect for people watching. You can sit at the small bar area as well. The staff was friendly, quick and attentive.
All this- combined with a clean, large lady's room- equals a good time for not a ton of cash! We will be back. Maybe to check out the pool tourney on Tues but for sure on Wed (ladies night 10-12pm)with a ladies only pool...
Read moreWent to the Smash Bros tournament and invited a ton of friends to finally get out the house and go do something nostalgic and local. Got to shout out the chef for those bomb tacos and all the guys in the bar that were actually polite and cordial through the whole night. Also the employee that brought us new controllers when the bashed up ones crapped out. ALSO the Bar back that found my keys and gave it to the bartender. (This is not a bash against women what so ever this is an honest review of what occurred on this evening) The girl that was in charge of the wristbands was very rude when I was asking simple questions about the event and the perks of the wristband (which is not in favor for people that just want a night out SOBER for once) Also the blond girl at the bar was very unpleasant once she realized I wasn't buying anything alcoholic and proceeded to be very rude throughout the whole transaction in front of my friends whom I brought to the event. I honestly do not understand the need to be rude so someone being genuinely polite. I guess all they deal with is drunk people all night and they just get numb to politeness. I don't know. Other than that, the array of games and table hockey where a nice touch. I would have appreciated just a little bit of politeness on the one night I...
Read moreThis is a great place for anybody born before millennials. This atmosphere makes you feel like you're in a early 1980s poolhall complete with stand-up arcade machines and a jukebox with music that stops at a certain year. There is a full bar and they serve food out of the kitchen in the back. The food is different kinds of tacos and I would describe them as Gourmet tacos... This isn't like a Taco Bell type thing I mean you can get bison and duck meat tacos with pickled onions and other delicious toppings that you will not find on standard tacos. Now for taco purists that sounds scary... You want a taco to taste a certain way and I would normally agree because I am one of those people, however these tacos are ridiculously good and only averaged a couple dollars each. they also have fried yuca that comes with a garlic aioli sauce and once again I normally hate yooka every time I've ever had it anywhere it was terrible...this is not only crispy and golden on the outside but it's the most tender Yuka I've ever had on the inside it's just like eating giant french fries that come with a garlic dipping sauce....you get a big plate for just $4 it's hilariously inexpensive to eat food at this place, good high...
