Used to be a gem. We came here for lunch on a Saturday at 1:25PM. Their signs and materials say they close at 2 PM. They greet us at the door with irritated faces. Cleaning inside was in progress. They told us they are closing and we could sit outside. I omitted that in my earlier review. But it was 90 degrees out and radar showed rain coming and the restaurant was literally empty. After my sister explained we had come a long way and thought they were open until 2 pm, they reluctantly sat us inside. There was no French music like there used to be. Instead, we heard Spanish conversations among busy cleaning personnel, which takes away from the French vibe we used to love. No one else was here when we arrived and now, we know why. I am also surprised by the rude responses that the owner makes to his/her customers on here. Our feedback can be helpful to the owners, but they berate anyone with feedback. Bottom line: if your restaurant is open til 2 pm, be fully open til 2pm. If you prefer to turn off the French music and close down at 1:30, why not do everyone a favor and just publish your hours as you close at 1:30? We had hoped for a long relaxing lunch but were there 30 minutes, trying to be out by 2 pm to be courteous to the staff, there was this feeling of being rushed. By the way, the food was really yummy. We adore their tarragon dressing. But when you're paying $12 per person, it is a shame to feel rushed. Hopefully, they correct their hours of operation so those of us who are not regulars but do travel a long distance are not...
Read moreWe have come here many times over the years and have had good food and service. Today was not one of those days. We walked up to a dirty table. When the waiter brought the napkins, s/p, and sugar , I took a napkin and wiped up the mess on the table as he had no towel. I thought he would come back and actually clean the table but he did not. We ordered OJ and coffee along with our breakfast. The drinks came but the glasses were 3/4 full. The coffee and the juice both. I think this is the first time I have ever had that happen to me anywhere. I didn’t say anything. Breakfast came and it was room temperature. The baguette ( well a tiny piece of baguette) was actually cold on the inside like it came out of the fridge. We asked for the bread to be warmed and the response was that the oven was busy cooking things for tomorrow. I didn’t know how to respond. We continue to eat and the potatoes were room temperature and half of them tasted like they were yesterday’s . We won’t be going back. We used to enjoy our day off with breakfast on the sidewalk when Nikki was there but it seems our waiter didn’t really care. Customer service...
Read moreFirst time visiting this cafe. The owner appeared dry and stated they closed at 1 pm inside, but we were free to sit outside afterward. We agreed to eat our food quickly before 1 pm. We had sat at 12:20 pm. My husband and I ordered a croissant sandwich with cheese, eggs, ham with a side of potatoes. The food was quick to come out. Potatoes were not warm enough, but edible. Croissant sandwich with eggs, ham and cheese were okay, nothing out of the ordinary. I could have made it at home. By 12:55 pm, we start picking up and decide to sit outside so our 2 year old daughter can finish her meal. We ask for a to go cup for our leftover coffee, but they didn’t want to provide us with one, eventually they did. So I have no idea how they wanted us to finish our coffee. We sat outside so our 2 year old can finish eating, by 1:15 pm we were already being kicked out of the place when it clearly states they close at 1:30 pm. Overall not a great experience. Food was not a big deal. Owner needs to be more personable and provide the customer with...
