Management: please be transparent with prices and put them on your menus, like the spring menu. I stopped in quickly to get a drink to go, the spring menu is on the counter with no prices on it, but the (non alcoholic) mojito green tea sounded good so I went for it thinking it wouldn’t be too crazy since the regular green tea is $4.50. Nope, the mojito one is $7 and comes in a tiny cup. The cookies sitting out also looked good so I went for it, despite no price listed anywhere either. My total came to over $13
for a cookie and iced tea? Your stuff is good but not THAT good. Even more insulting is the added “Health & Wellness” charge on your bill they also conveniently don’t tell you
please be transparent with prices and hidden charges. This is not the type of place I would come back to since I feel scammed and overcharged. The quality and prices don’t match.

Update: I have visited this location twice since my review below, and unfortunately both experiences were uncomfortable. The food and drinks were good however it feels like the barista taking orders doesn't like customers. She was pretty unwelcoming and borderline rude. I'll be giving them some time before I return. Disappointing because it was a favorite place for me to visit near home in West Sac. Original Review: Absolutely lovely French Bistro. Food and espresso drinks were above par. Cozy atmosphere, good parking. This place is great for West Sacramento. They also serve wine but I visited at 9 am so I can't attest to how good it is, but I feel like it's amazing 😆

A friend and I tried this place on a Friday night. It is definitely set up for small groups of 2 or 3, it seems like they are more of a breakfast/brunch place than a wine bar, but that doesn’t mean we were disappointed. We shared a warm frisĂ©e and lardon salad and the autumn tartine with a couple glasses of wine. It was a great combo that I recommend, but the star was the Tartine with kabocha squash and greens. We ended with a pluot and pear tarte that was also delicious. I’d like to see what it is like in the morning for comparison. There were some delicious looking croissants and quiches we could see from our seats at the bar.

This was a perplexing experience. The service was the main issue. Off the bat, I asked if the salmon tartine could be made dairy free, with no cheese, but an egg instead. This was to be for my wife who has recently had a baby and could use extra protein at any turn. She is lactose in tolerant. The staff were polite at first, explaining that cheese was a core component of the dish. I assured them that the salmon on toast would be just fine, but an egg would be an appreciated addition. The staff then scoffed at the idea of an egg as part of this dish. I had a baby to attend to, and so dropped the apparently ridiculous egg idea and completed our order. My wife added our baby’s mashed avocado to the dish instead when it arrived.

We were with friends, who were initially served the wrong type of quiche. This was resolved, for which we were thankful.

Another friend commented that the croque madam and walnut croissant were excellent.

I had the oatmeal which was generally very good, with a great portion size. However, saying it comes with fruit is a bit misleading. The fruit in question? 3 razor thin slices of strawberry.

I sliced a bit of my baby’s banana onto the oatmeal which completed the dish.

Curiously, the second oatmeal dish that came out for my wife missing the chia seeds entirely. Again, this was eventually resolved.

The thing that saves this from being a 3 star experience, is that the coffee is the BEST coffee I’ve so far this year. I ordered an oat milk flat white.

Nice outdoor seating complemented the morning coffee experience.

Overall, expect a good food experience but don’t expect anything more than average service at best. Unfortunately in this case, the service was lacking enough that it impacted the...

Arrived hopeful - left disappointed (again). First time commenting. I really want this place to work out, so I hope the owner/manager will take these comments into consideration. This was for a lunchtime visit, at ~20% capacity. -Atmosphere. It's very cold inside: seats, plates, tables, everything. I understand maybe heating is expensive, but at least put a cookie in the oven, or turn on a scented candle to make it seem like something is cooking/baking. It doesn't feel cozy/welcoming. -Decoration. Please clean/rinse out out your fresh flower vases/jars. They are moldy, and it's not great to look at floaties/sinkies while I'm trying to eat. -Seats, table, surrounding floor. There are crumbs everywhere. It would add a positive note to the place if it was clean when I sat down. -Coffee drinks. Quality seems good, but please ask cashier to offer sugar/sweeter/milk, or have it easily accessible to us. Not everyone likes it plain. -Food. (this was for the quiche dish). Nicely presented, but came out tepid, and cooled rapidly (probably b/c everything around it was cold). Please make salt/pepper easily accessible; it shouldn't be a chore to the staff to have to go and pour some out into a serving thimble. Excellent food doesn't need to be seasoned - this was not. Unfortunately it was rather bland, and crust a bit soggy.

If you are going to bill yourself as a French-style place, you really need to pay attention to some simple details and take...

We made reservations for their Valentine's Day dinner. We were the first seating of the evening and knew they'd be busy. They advertised the time slot as being very limited on time to accommodate the subsequent reservations. However, the service was very slow and everything took too long between the food, beverages, and check-ins. The soup dish and entrees took particularly long and caused several hiccups for other tables too. We think they had to make a new batch of soup or something.

Timeline: Seating 5:45 1st dish 5:58 (oysters and asparagus) 2nd dish 6:02 (bread) 3rd dish 6:11 (salad) 4th dish 6:47 (soup) 5th dish 7:20 (fish and artichoke hearts with baby potatoes and carrots) Dessert 7:58 (lava cake) Check 8:10

The bread, salad, and soap were good. Everything else was just okay or inedible. The artichoke hearts tasted only of potatoes. The carrots were not cooked at all. The lava cake wasn't warm at all and very sad.

The DJ was a nice touch for the environment. No one asked us about our food or anything. This dinner was too expensive for what it was or wasn't at...
