This was me and my husband’s second time coming to this location. Our first visit would have been 5/5 stars because of the food, and the friendly patrons. That is what made me and my husband want to come back for our lunch breaks. Unfortunately our 2nd visit was not as great as our first visit so it is unlikely we will return unless we are really craving this type of food on the West Side. There are not many restaurants like this on the West Side. The food is really well prepared and tasty. We have had their fried rice, chicken wings, green curry, beef noodle soup, and a few other items. The atmosphere is spread out with nice greenery through the restaurant. The service on our first visit was fine, but was slow. I attribute this to it being lunch time which is understandable. The service on our second visit was not good. It took forever for them to take our order, and bring out our food. They never came to check on us, not even once and we had to grab people to get the check, water, boxes etc. At one point I asked my waitress for chili oil and she instructed me to grab it myself. This was different than the first time because they brought it to me the first time I was here. I didn’t think too much of it until I saw chili oil and other items being brought to every other table. As I am writing this review I have been sitting for 15 minutes, and no one has come to give me a check, ask if I need boxes, or anything. I had to go up to pay. I also asked if one of the items on the menu had an ingredient I was allergic to and the waitress said she didn’t know and she wasn’t very willing to ask the kitchen if the ingredient was used. I usually would get Thai tea to go, but decided not to this time because of how slow it was and the poor service. Last time when I got the Thai tea...

My wife and I have been to Mela Thai Cuisine for takeout four times now in the past 2 months. Everything we get is great. Ordering online is easy. You can order ahead for pickup at a specific time or order food ASAP. It is always ready, hot and delish. We really do love everything we tried but I am still craving the fresh spring roll. My vegetarian wife loves the special avocado roll (I doo too). Had the Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp (yes you can add extra protein and veggies) with medium spice, the Pad see Eiw with mock duck- mild, and Drunken Noodle with chicken - mild (but in the notes added mild to medium and got it that way). We also love the sesame chicken and pad cashew chicken. I love the pineapple fried rice (added chicken and extra veggies). Everything is a nice big portion- we always have leftovers for lunch. There is plenty of free parking. The folks who run the place are very nice. The spice can get hot quick, be careful not to ruin the food with too much "hot", it really is delicious and you can always add more pepper. You can eat inside. No booze, there are soft drinks, hot tea, and thai beverages. Nice place. We love Mela Thai Cuisine. Robert Street is becoming the new Eat Street of the Twin...

My wife, kids, and I have been ordering from Meli Thai from the beginning and it has slowly gotten worse the longer they’ve been in business. I’m not writing to be mean, but to share our experience over the years. In the beginning, it was good. The spices were okay and if I asked for mild, my wife and kids would eat it.

Then they changed and their mild was too strong for my kids. I liked it, but they couldn’t eat it. So, the next time I ordered, I asked about that, and they said they would put in extra coconut milk to make it not as spicy for my children. It Would have been nice for them to tell me this before we ordered and spent $50 on dinner that my kids cannot eat.

We ordered again last night. And I asked for no spices with extra coconut milk for my kids. And it was so spicy. They cannot eat it. So we are back again to it being extremely too spicy. I love spices. And usually order medium to hot. But this one was even too hot for me. I personally cannot even eat it.

I am not a type of person to write reviews. This is my second review ever I have ever written. But I hope they can fix this. Because every time we go, it gets worse and worse and it’s to a point where I’m...

This is a great Thai restaurant. Three of us ate dinner there and we really enjoyed it. You can pick the protein you want and they will customize the dish as needed. The heat level is 1 to 5 with 5 being Thai hot (per the server). I like very hot (spicy) food so I ordered level 4 and it was good but not hot (no hiccups or sweating). I will get level 5 next time, but my wife got level 3 and it was quite hot to her and said she would not get it any hotter. The waitstaff was very friendly and the service was quick. We were there about 6pm on a Thursday and there were not many people at the tables but they had a lot of takeaway orders. I am looking forward to eating here again!

I had the Pad Woon Senn spice level 2 (enough to make your nose run but not painful!) and the Fresh Spring Rolls, and a Thai coffee. The spring rolls were my favorite part, the mint and cilantro were bright and the whole thing tasted super refreshing. The dipping sauce was also top notch. These were not spicy at all but didn't need to be, the flavor was there. The inside of the restaurant is nice and bright. When I arrived I sat myself at one of the booths for dine-in. Everything was really clean as well. I will be visiting or ordering again in the near future.
