I was anxiously awaiting for a Paris Baguette to come to my neighborhood and it finally opened up. I've been there three times - the first time was a nice experience with good food and service. Being a Paris Baguette rewards member they told me that I could scan the QR code from my receipt to get the rewards from my purchase added to my account. I tried to do it via the Paris Baguette app but it didn't work. The second visit was also good and I mentioned to the staff that I was unable to scan the QR code from my previous purchase and they told me there was an issue with the app and to try again.
Unfortunately my third visit was not a good experience for several reasons. I ordered a cake online for pick up two days later. When I went to pick up the cake I asked the person behind the register if I could redeem my free drink rewards offer and he said yes but I would need to make a purchase. I told him that I purchased the cake so why would I need to make another purchase and he said that I should have redeemed the free drink with purchase when I placed my order online two days ago. Why would I need to make another purchase since I was purchasing/picking up my cake at that same moment?? Didn't make any sense to me.
Then I shared with him that I was still unable to scan the QR code from a few weeks ago because the Paris Baguette app had issues with scanning. He tried to let me scan another QR code at the register but it did not work. Then he tells me that since my receipt was from a few weeks ago , it is too old and not scannable . So now I was also unable to get the rewards from my previous purchase.
At that point I asked to speak to the manager and he tells me he is the manager. I shared with him that I was very disappointed with the service I was receiving because he did not honor the free drink rewards offer unless I made another purchase (eventhough I just purchased a cake) and I was unable to get the rewards for a previous purchase solely due to their app having scanning issues. After all this frustration I was then offered the free medium beverage but I declined it because by that time it was just too late.
Lastly when I finally get the cake I realize that it did not have the Happy Birthday message that I had requested in the Special Instructions on the online order, He said that they did not see the Special Instructions. I waited another few minutes for them to add the message and when I get the cake I notice that they wrote the wrong name . Once again - I had to wait a few minutes for them to them correct it.
I love Paris Baguette and was so happy one opened near me, however, the customer service at this location is very disappointing. I do hope improvements will be made at the Paris Baguette...
Read moreI was extremely excited to learn about this new location because it’s so close to me, but, sadly, it’s not like the other locations. No tongs??
The Nassau Park location has been open for about a week, I think. I walked in and it LOOKS like the other locations, although much smaller than the East Brunswick and Montgomery/Belle Mead locations, and probably even smaller than the Plainsboro one, as well.
I got there around 7pm on a Wednesday , but I didn’t see any tongs anywhere near the trays, so I thought that maybe they had started cleaning up or something. I asked one of the two associates where the tongs are and she told me that they don’t have them and to use the tissue paper below the pastry cases.
Pastries are the same selection as what’s currently available at the other locations (I just had lunch with a friend at the Montgomery location two days ago). I picked up the Nutella croissant donut. I immediately noticed that none of them had as much Nutella on the top as the Montgomery location, just a thin line, as opposed to one that is probably double the width found at the Montgomery store. I also picked up the Nutella and strawberries pizzetta flatbread square. It was very awkward picking things up with the tissue paper.
Went to the counter to pay for my items. The pizetta was a little soft so the associate had a difficult time picking it up off the tray and actually had to use her un-gloved finger to help support the pastry into a to-go box. The associate held one side with the tissue paper, but the other end just sank as she lifted it off the tray. She first used the tip of her un-gloved finger to hold the other end of the pastry, then realized that she shouldn’t use her finger so then just used the tip of her fingernail, instead); cringeworthy. Then the box was just a plain brown-paper-bag coloured box, not the standard PB box.
Very disappointed with this experience. I hope they plan to get tongs and other standard PB...
Read moreAt first glance, the place looks amazing. All of the pretty pastries under glass. So pretty. Like a little jewel box. But that is where the magic ends. Reality sets in and you realize these beautiful creations must be massed produced, somewhere. Where and by whom is left to the imagination. Other than hot drinks, it is all self-serve. Pick up a tray, paper, and tongs and go for it. But in light of all the crazy people running around creating chaos today, I’d prefer requesting my treat from behind the counter, served by an employee. The egg, cheese, and ham on croissant was disappointing. The egg resembled a frisbee and the counter person did not heat it long enough, the inside was still cold. The lemon cream filled donut was huge and filled with custard, but was cloyingly sweet. And I like sweet, but it was over the top. While there, an argument arose at the counter about charging per item in a latte that was clearly shown on the menu as a coconut caramel latte for $4 and some change. It turns out the customer had to pay additional money for the caramel and the coconut on top of the list price. Starbucks has nothing to worry about, if that is truly the case. The total for 2, each with 2 treats, a latte, and a bottle of water was $30+, including tip. 🤯 Guess, I’d prefer to continue to support my locally owned bakeries and patisseries (shout out to Nina’s Bakery and Gingered Peach!) for baked goods. Will lIkely not return. The place was jammed, so they won’t...
