Reves Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Westfield

Today, I drove 20 minutes to buy a good and authentic smoothie. Post workout that was all I wanted. I did not want to go to Smoothie King or Quick Check for a very sweet smoothie with frozen ingredients. This was my 3rd time ordering from Reves, each time I go I try to order a new smoothie. Today, I ordered the Spring special, 'Strawberry Matcha' smoothie. The prior smoothie purchases were delicious. However, this particular Matcha smoothie was very bitter and horrible compared to the other smoothies were great. It actually hurt my tummy and felt like I was going to barf for a duration of 30 minutes. I had to immediately drink 2 cups of water to get the queezy feeling to subside and it went away.

What got me curious was I did not taste like all the ingredients listed on the menu were included, Matcha ofcourse, strawberry puree and milk I can taste, BUT did not taste any Kale, banana, lime or mango which should of sweetened the smoothie up. I was rather dissapointed today after a 20 minute ride, upset tummy and less $ in my pocket. Did not seem worth the trip today. .Maybe the ingredients in this summer special needs to be tweaked or proportioned differently. I would have gave 4 stars but the fact that I drove 20 minutes each way and too much matcha made...

Where do I begin ! I love this place. I love the customer service and the location as well as the ambiance. I come here all the time and order my usual, nutty Natalie or super chocolate Carl! The reason for 4 stars is simply because I feel that there is no need to charge customers for the option of no granola in their bowls. Don’t get me wrong I love their granola but sometimes I’m not always in the mood to have some in my bowl. Sometimes there is also way too much granola by the time I get to the end of my bowl :( (if I order an Acai bowl I expect Acai not a bowl full of granola and overpowered by fruit, I think there should be an equal Acai to fruit ratio) other Açaí bowl places usually do not charge customers when they want to remove something from a bowl! I think 50 cent to remove a granola is unfair especially when the customer is saving the company product !! And also to add when I request a nut butter on my bowl I barely get any which is sad because the bowl is already a little pricy (but worth it). I would like to have a good amount of nut butter when I order a bowl that includes it! Other than the obvious stated I love this place and would return and recommend. Just a lite constructive criticism I would like...

I got an açaí bowl and it was perfect! I really appreciate how the ingredients were mixed through the bowl rather than a bowl with a base on bottom and other ingredients on top which would have made mixing them messy. I would suggest being able to make substitutions for free rather than a $1 up charge although it’s not a huge deal.

There are different seating options including comfy bench seats along the wall where I could look down Broad Street and see everything pass by. One of the walls had all different police patches which was a nice touch and I hope to see more in the future.

One of the best parts of my experience is how genuinely invested Sebastian and Cynthia (I hope I’m spelling their names right) are in their customers’ satisfaction. Sebastian came to sit down and talk with me and get my feedback on the bowl while I was eating which I really liked. He explained their vision behind Reves, the business’ French name origin, and it felt like I was getting to know a new friend while enjoying my meal.
