Sarpino's Pizzeria Westminster — Restaurant in Westminster

After finding this spot a year ago, my bf and I love coming here for their pizza and they are always open late. They always have great service and the food has always been hot and fresh. Today, however, was a different situation. I ordered 1 large 1 topping pizza - pepperoni. I had a coupon from the back of a grocery receipt I got from Safeway for $10.99 for 1 lg, 1 topping pizza - pick up only. When I got there, the kid behind the counter told me he didn't know how to add the coupon for the discount. I asked for a manager and was informed there was no manager on duty, and the other 2 employees seen in the back either didn't speak English or didn't know how to help, although none was asked. After his lack of initiative to find a solution I asked how much the pizza would be full price and was told $13 - $15. It seemed unreasonable to argue for $5, so I was ready to pay and leave. I almost inserted my card as the $23 total appeared on the PIN pad of the machine. What happened to the $15? This kid really stood there without a word and was about to let me spend $10 more than what he told me, with everything over $10.99 [pre-tax] was already over the coupon amount. My bf intervened at this point and asked what the problem was and not a word this kid said as I explained the situation, until he realized he was about have an issue, at which time he suddenly said he would use a different coupon magically delivering the $15 total he started with when he couldn't use my original coupon. When I finally paid and got our food, it wasn't fresh. It wasn't hot. And it wasn't even worth the drive over, much less having to pay $15 and deal with the attempting scamming I experienced. I'd like to say I trust someone with authority sees this and reaches out to resolve it on both ends, as we want to remain customers, but the situation made us weary of returning without some sort of managerial...

Tried this place for the first time last night and must say I was fairly underwhelmed by the results. I was excited to try an authentic local Italian pizzeria (all the other places that deliver to me are crap basic chain places dominos, Pizza Hut, blackjack etc)

Ordered two medium pizzas. One was extra cheese and Canadian bacon. The other was ricotta, fresh basil, capicola and meatball.

The first pizza the sauce was not evenly distributed, lots of places were just crust and the Canadian bacon and cheese.

The second one was fine outside of just surprisingly lack luster in flavor. This applied to both pizzas. Not sure if it was the sauce or crust (can’t imagine it was the cheese since it’s I think a 5 blend of cheese). But I was just kinda surprised to not have just a flavor bomb of fresh delicious flavors. The only thing that stood out to me was the meatball which was delicious but again I think there were 3 huge meatballs on the whole thing so not distributed across the pizza where each slice had any.

All in all was just kinda a let down from the flavor experience I was expecting from a fresh Italian pizza place.

Especially for 2 pizzas to almost be 50 dollars (I did use their buy one get one half off and it came to a little over 35 bucks and still that’s just too expensive for the quality I received) but to be this expensive and not be super flavorful from the toppings, sauce and crust to just be kinda mid.

All in all I would say a step up from dominos and Pizza Hut but think blackjack has more flavor in the crust and sauce than this place. Perhaps it was just an off night, I don’t know.

Delivery driver was friendly and wonderful and timing was great.

Would be willing to give it another try if it just wasn’t so expensive or at least was worth the extra money.

Hopefully they work on quality, distribution of ingredients and...

I ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich and it was soo good!! Omg super tasty! I ordered takeout so I didn't get to see the place since a co-worker went and picked up the group order we had all placed. However when I ordered, I ordered French bread. I did receive a call from Sarpino's to let me know they were out of French bread and if the other kind was ok or if I wanted to order something else which I thought was thoughtful of them to call to ask and not just send out whatever they had without checking first, thank you for that! I also like how you can customize and add veggies to your sandwich. They also gave us a card with $3 off my next order. The packaging was so cute, my sandwich and chips came in a little box AND the honey was on the side so that my bread wouldn't get soggy, I appreciated that as well! The only thing was that it wasn't actually spicy at all but it was still an amazing sandwich and the extra little things were super thoughtful. I'm definitely ordering again...
