This was my second trip to POC in a fairly short space of time, and it continued to stand up very well! Prior to this year, it had been a good number of years since I had been there, and there had been some issues in need of rectifying. Most pleasingly, POC seems to have come through strongly.
Here in South Florida, with a vast profusion of sushi establishments - even buffets - proliferating across the landscape, you really have to do something right to survive. POC, out in Weston, is doing that. They do not have the largest selection of offerings on their buffet - unlike, say, a Shinju, whose spaces tend to be a great deal larger - but they compete very well on the quality of their offerings. And again, while that quality isn't what a traditional sushi restaurant might offer, it does not show poorly in comparison - and it's a buffet. All of those choices are very well-thought out, made of good quality ingredients, and kept nicely fresh in the turnaround. I am particularly a fan of their sashimi offerings, with a balsamic-marinated whitefish that is simply delightful and pepper-crusted cuts of salmon and tuna that could easily comprise my entire meal if I allowed.
On their hot bar, I'm a tremendous fan of the meat cuts they bring, which - as may surprise you, unless you know Weston location's demographic - have a marked (and well-heeled Latin American flavor. In particular, the small cuts of steak they offer, along with the grilled sausage, are a really nice counterpoint to the sushi if you'd like a little turf with your surf.
The final element I will mention is the service. All servers in the establishment are highly attentive and there was never any issue with our drinks being kept properly filled and fresh, or used dishes being cleared away. I've gone away from both these visits being quite impressed with the work ethic and cheerful good humor which was fun to play along with.
Now if only I could keep from eating...

The Weston Location is TERRIBLE! Previously dined at the Coral Gables Location, which is MUCH better overall.
Our bad experience started with the waitress who (wearing glasses with black hair) was SUPER RUDE, gave our table attitude and basically lied to my face. I asked her politely if she would warm up a plate of crab legs that I plated from the cold bar for myself and my niece and she rudely said "Is this going to be enough for you" insinuating I had too much. Then I said why, and she explained the kitchen was closing and cleaning up. Mind you, it was 7:30pm. So after she walked away, I walked up to the hostess and asked what time the kitchen closes. The hostess explained 20min before closing and closing was at 9pm. SERIOUSLY?!? The waitress basically gave us attitude the entire evening as if she was doing us a favor serving us. If you don't like your job get a desk job where you don't have to deal with people. Apparently, she was miserable being a waitress at that restaurant.
Besides the terrible service, some food wasn't fresh. Some of the seafood had a foul spoiled taste. On several occasions, I had to discreetly spit into a napkin to AVOID the possibility of getting food poisoning. Do yourself a favor and skip this location. If you have your heart on trying POC go to the Coral Gables restaurant where they actually treat patrons politely. Overall though, if you want a better selection, fresh food and GREAT customer service spend your money elsewhere. I've been to MUCH BETTER buffets like Kyojin, Shinju, (multiple locations Dade/Broward) Ichiyami (Boca) and whomever I dine with, we ALWAYS leave...

POC in Weston fell far short of expectations, offering a disappointing dining experience that left much to be desired. The venue is small and cramped, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere that was not conducive to a pleasant meal.
The menu options were severely limited, with most dishes lacking flavor. The selection of hot food was minimal, and the absence of hibachi and substantial salads was noticeable. The sushi, primarily composed of rice, failed to impress. Additionally, the location within a nondescript mini-mall did not help its case.
Hoping to celebrate a family gathering, we were disheartened to find that POC in Weston did not live up to the standard set by its Coral Gables counterpart. The ambiance and overall experience were lacking, resulting in a regrettable choice for our event.
While the service was passable, it was somewhat intrusive, with staff frequently hovering over our table. This added to the overall sense of dissatisfaction.
The food quality was reminiscent of a budget Chinese buffet, with nothing tasting particularly fresh and most items seeming like they were reheated from frozen.
In summary, POC in Weston did not meet our expectations, and we would not recommend this...
