I love bartaco! And I love the staff.
I order takeout from this resturant for my family a good amount . And if I donāt order take out I am sitting here with friend.
As a self described loyal diner I am appalled at the behavior of the manager Ana on 07/19/20 around 7 pm.
I placed a large order over the phone and was told it would be an hour long wait. Totally fine ! I went to the resturant after coming in a bit after the hour to see some confusion with my order due to the person over the phone not hearing my name properly. The name on the order that they had was Alex although I said Alexa ... again totally fine.
After getting my order and driving back home I noticed that for my two large guac and chips order the chips part was absent.
I called the resturant several times since they put up their self automated messaging system.
Finally I got someone on the phone who I now know is Ana the manager who I explained the minor situation to.
Yes, it is a small situation but still very irritating. I said I would prefer the chips be delivered to my home since I was just there and am now already home. She said they canāt. I took that answer and was fine with it. But when I checked their website delivery was an option. So again, I called a few times and finally got someone on the phone other than the automated message and I stated ā hi I saw on your website that delivery is an option can the remaining portion of my order please be delivered so I donāt have to go out again.ā
Anaās response was ā if you want something delivered you will need to order it again via online and have Door Dash or Uber Eats deliver.ā As she laughed under her breath. She then continued to say āa pandemic is going on and you need to be more understanding.ā I stated, āwhy would I pay again for something that I already paid for. And we are all experiencing the pandemic not just you and not just this resturant.ā
Which then she states that if I donāt want to do it that way she would refund the whole order.
All in all I am just beyond annoyed.
Mistakes happen. Especially during busy times. However, laughing under your breath, saying you donāt see the big deal, etc. does not change the current situation.
I went back to the resturant and went to get the chips for my 2 large orders of guac and was met with Ana who had a chip on her shoulder.
I stated to her I donāt see why she is behaving this way especially when she is a supposed manager. She claims I āabusedā her over the phone, she did not laugh at me, that they couldnāt hear my name and so she circled my name on the receipt as well as a refund for the guac and chips (which I did not ask for), and asked me if I was done complaining to her yet.
I spoke to her other manager because speaking to Ana was the equivalent of speaking to a brick wall. If this is how a manager behaves when she may not have agreed with the customers irritation I am interested to know how other members of staff may think the proper behavior should be.
To throw out statements such as āabused her on the phoneā, passive aggressively circling my correct name on the receipt, and putting an over the top amount of chips in the bag was just beyond childish.
I truly hope that managers like Ana isnāt a reflection of what Bartaco Westport has become. As a loyal diner and patron of this establishment this treatment is UNACCEPTABLE.
Your resturant can be busy, your staff can be frustrated ... but by no circumstances do you cop an attitude and take that out on a customer who did nothing to you but want their correct order.
A lot is going on in the world right now besides the pandemic. And āmanagersā such as Ana should have a little more compassion and take her own person dislikes of someone for whatever her reasonings and leave them...

I guess if you are those Millenials that Don't know nothing about AUTHENTIC FOOD and Appreciate the Value of your money to go and Eat at a place not because of great Food and service BUT because of the "ATMOSPHERE" OF THE PLACE then go ahead go and do the biggest mistake of your life. NO EXISTENT COSTUMER SERVICE. they sat us down on a table without umbrella on a 98 degree weather frying up, most of my family was over 60 years old. Manager never came to our table instead we suspect he on top of being manager was a hostess (pretty crazy huh?) As you guys could imagine my family over 60 couldn't figure out how to order through their phones. Nobody was able to help us at all we were over 35 min trying to figure it out. Water didnt have ice and took a long time to be served as you could imagine we couldnt be more than 45 min under that excrutiating sun so we saw on our left side an empty whole side with big shade! Still part of the whole patio not being used!!!!!! We went on to ask the "Manager/Hostess" if we could get moved from which he responded "we technically cannot do that but if you guys go ahead and move the things there is nothing we can do!!!!!!" Could you believed that???? No staff helped us to move our table and chairs! Instead were looking at us and judging us!!! IS SO DISGUSTING TO EVEN remembered it. TACOS ARE TINY PORTIONS, Bowls ARE tiny!!!!!! The food is not THE BEST at all. EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE for the food to be tacos is a JOKE. Margaritas tasted like lemonade. Meet on the bowls was cold. MY cauliflower bowl wasn't served like stated on the menu. They make you drink from glass without STRAWS????? More risk of contracting COVID!!!! Bowls arent disposable, neither trays to served food! Silverwear too!! If YOU ARE TOO WORRY ABOUT COVID THEN CHANGE THAT EVEN A MONKEY COULD UNDERSTAND THE RISKS OF YOU DOING THIS. BUT INSTEAD PREFER TO HAVE A ONLINE MENU Only thing i have to say is WOW. Never got an apology from staff or general manager. AND PLEASE GENERAL MANAGER DO NOT BOTHER ON MAKING IT UP TO US Even if you pay for our check next time we would not EVER go there again. And whoever i can talk to i will make sure they know our experience so they do not ever waste there money going...

Iāll narrow it down for you all.. donāt ask for anything.. the answer is āNo we canāt do thatā ordered a rum and coke for my wife at the bar while we waited, I ordered her another one after we were seated and our waiter said āwe donāt make rum and cokesā The order on your on your phone feature is a debacle u have to sit there and set up an account and enter your own card information, and very confusing to use, and the servers were of no help when asked for assistance. Also had the very unsettling experience to see how differently ācertainā people were treated. Apparently when we asked for something all of a sudden it wasnāt possible or once again they would say āwe cannot do thatā all while we stood there and watched how they did accommodate to āotherā patrons exact requests. The drinks were surprisingly good. Now letās talk about the food, waitress explains the ordering process and says itās family style and weāll bring out all the food together at the same time....shocker, not true, food came out intermittently, my kids lemonade took at least 20 minutes to come out, and everything was cold almost as if they purposely let it sit around, And when we did get it, it was underwhelming and couldnāt even stomach finishing my food. Many more examples to give you all but I think I painted a picture. Only positive thing about the entire night is that the manager Kimberly came out and was , decent and professional and didnāt talk to us like second class citizens. She definitely does not belong at that place. Needless to say next time I might as well just go to Taco Bell. Better...
