D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches — Restaurant in Wethersfield

Staff literally ignored me and didn’t acknowledge me when walking into the restaurant. I had already placed a phone order was waiting in line stepped aside to the cooler area and went back and stood where I was originally standing., now if you ask me I was racially overlooked because I was the only African-American/ Minority in the restaurant at this time., so I’m standing there in the same spot now in the front of the counter now another gentleman of different race walks in and the same staff that saw me standing there originally in line and saw when I stepped away to look at the cooler walked pass me and right to the Man that walked in and asked him if he was picking up..? Now he Man replied and said yes and gave his name so another staff comes out from the back and walks past me again and straight to this same guy and ask him if he was all set. I finally said EXCUSE ME I’m picking up I believe I’ve been standing here… and on top of it all they Made my pocket WRONG. I guess if you are of a different complexion is easy to ignore you. Sandwiches were okay; no complaints there.

I visit this location once a month and get the exact same order. Everytime I go here, this one guy is always working. Here are my thoughts. He is not rude, but his demeanor is robot-like. I actually feel somewhat bothered by his total lack of emotion and other characteristics that define human interaction. It's as if he hates his job, dislikes people and would rather be doing anything else than work in a d'angelos.

I am not trying to imply that employees should be overly nice, grinning ear to ear to constantly.

I AM implying that this particular individual does not, in any way, make me feel welcome. Again. Not rude. Not friendly. Just existing,...

I would give them no stars but I can't. I ordered online for 3 steak and cheese grinders with ketch up, 2 meds and 1 small birthday grinder. It was to be ready at 12:45 pm. Got there at 12:40 pm and paid for it. I watched everyone who came in after me leave before me. Then at 1 pm they called my name, it was sitting behind the counter and offer me a small bag a chips for their incompetence. Not even close!!!! Then I get back to the office and it turns out that they didn't put any ketch up on. This is the kind of incompetence they have working there. Let me ask you, is this what you want to put up with? Not me... they can take their rewards card and stick it where the sun...
