After hearing that the restaurant was bought out, explains a lot about why I have such bad service tonight although for years and years it was always great. first off, the eggrolls where overdone, and they forgot to give us sweet-and-sour and hot sauce, which in the past, they never forgot, they always gave tons of it in the bottom of the bag. We had to go back to the restaurant and complain. Also, the portions of food have shrunk for the money. They used to give you good sized portions for the money you paid. Tonight I paid over $77.00 and got two orders of sweet-and-sour chicken plus other main dishes and I swear they were appetizer size! These new owners don’t reflect the high-quality tradition of the family that owned it originally. It’s really sad because I don’t plan to go back there ever again and I’ve been going to them for over 17 years. Again the new owners are cutting corners, being “Pennywise, but pound, foolish”.. this is directly reflected in their food, quality and portion size, as well as their distribution of condiments..
Once again, I decided to try their restaurant to give them a second chance perhaps they learned from their mistakes, nope…. The same old thing, sub quality food, always looking to do things on the cheap, Hardly any condiments, unlike the other previous owners who put tons in the bag, very sad and disappointing...
Read moreIf I could, I would give ZERO STARS. we drove 35 mins to get food from China Star. We ordered sesame chicken, chicken kung pao and curry chicken. The curry chicken was okay but sesame and kungpao chicken were worst. Kung pap chicken was dry, overcooked as if it was cooked a day ago and they just warmed it up and gave it to us, peanuts had black stain on it, veggies were dry and old. The rice was so dry as well. I called to inform the owner about the food and she said, “IF YOU DONT LIKE THE FOOD THEN DONT COME BACK”. Instead of understanding and showing grace by apologizing, she spoke with me in a high tone, telling me that i was lying and wanted me to drive 35 mins again to show her the food. So I’m attaching the picture of Kung Pao for your review. Look at how old the...
Read moreI initially judge a Chinese restaurant by their fried rice and egg rolls because if those 2 basic staples are not good, the restaurant is a failure in my mind. But this place is one of only 2 places I get fried rice from in the Western Suburbs. I live in Lisle, so it says something that I drive over 7 miles each way for Fried rice but that is what I do when I find a place I like. This is a nice family business, and children are sometimes handling adult jobs but when I have ordered recently (post date above, this update 11/17/2022) the communications when ordering have greatly improved, which appears to be something more than a few people have noticed in the past as a small issue. The BBQ Pork Fried Rice is fantastic, good job keeping it consistent...
