This used to be our go to McDonalds because of the quality of service, food, and cleanliness. We will not be going back. We placed our dine in order and after a five minute wait went to ask what was the delay in our order. Stood at the counter several minutes waiting even for service. The employee looked at my ticket then looked around and said she didn’t know. I had to say I had paid for my food but didn’t get it. She then called the manager over and he questioned me about where my food was. They then looked again and the order had been bagged on the back counter. By now it had been 10 minutes after placing our order. The manager then put the blame on me for not answering when my order was called even though we had the table closest to the register and had the counter in sight the whole time. I opened the bag before taking it to the table and the fries were warm at best. I took the fries out and asked the worker for hot ones. I even gave her a fry to touch to show her it was not hot. She again called the manager over. He took the fries and threw them back into the fry bin and told the employee to give us two new fries using the ones he just threw back in ,there weren’t any others in there. I returned to our table hoping to eat the meals without fries only to find that my wraps ordered with no ranch, and it noted on the rcpt and slip taped on the wrap, came with ranch sauce. My husband took them back and they needed to be remade. He also brought the fries back and requested new ones. He got them but never an apology for any of the errors. As another disgruntled customer, whose order was also cold said, you pay a lot of money for this and this shouldn’t be happening. She was right. As a McDonalds stockholder, I was very disappointed to see the customer service. I hope this is not the new training model for stores but one set of employees poorly trained...
Read moreThe environment inside this Wheaton McDonalds is very welcoming, as are the employees.
Rich, in particular, is always endlessly patient with the many senior customers that congregate at the restaurant. He knows everyone’s order by heart. He’s also extremely accommodating to elderly customers with mobility issues, literally bringing their food TO them. If you look up “exemplary” in the dictionary, you’ll see a photo of Rich next to the definition!
Amanda does a splendid job of balancing a hectic plethora of orders, while still being totally aware of her customers. Her pleasant, upbeat demeanor is a pleasure. Felicia, who is perky and efficient when taking orders, literally appears to have eyes in the back of her head recognizing customers and anticipating their needs.
Much of this is a reflection of the management. Instead of being aloof, the managerial employees here are friendly, welcoming and thoughtful. The customer service experience here is what keeps people like me coming back for more!
The decor is worth mentioning, as well. Fresh flowers adorn the tables & the ladies room had a stunning arrangement of scented lilies and tulips back in May, with pinecones sprinkled at the base of the vases. This morning (July 6, 2021) I spied the manager enter the restaurant with bouquets of fresh flowers. Later, I witnessed the pretty flowers (arranged in vases now) being sprinkled on the lobby tables.
The meticulously clean ladies room was graced with gorgous fresh white flowers filling the air with a lovely scent. The “floral artist” responsible for the displays deserves accolades! The restroom has always been super clean (as is the whole restaurant) but the flowers in there add such an elegant touch. Is this really a fast food restaurant? It looks like a spa to me! Gorgeous.
Thanks for going the extra mile everyone. It’s very much...
Read moreOn my way to work yesterday, I stopped at this McDonald's to buy a cup of coffee through the drive-thru lane. I asked the guy at the window a simple question about the menu, he gave me a smart remark after initially ignoring me. So, I pulled up to the window as he was talking on his headset and laughing uncontrollably. I said, "My question about the menu was not meant to be funny."The kid rudely said "You would not be the first customer to pull off,"which I never implied doing. Requested the Manager (Andrew), he blatantly said to me "I don't see nothing wrong with what he said to you. I said to him, "Where is the customer service here; we the (customers) are the reason you all have a job". Andrew (the manager) said, "we are the reason "you customers" have food." My response was, "this is not the only place with food or coffee". Naturally I decided that this is not a place for me to do business with, so I drove off. Andrew (the manager) aggressively and belligerently yelled out the window insulting and negative comments of "Have a nice day, etc." This toxic behavior demands immediate attention; clearly these two are in the wrong profession. My only regret is not having a personal video of this bullish behavior. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced at any McDonald's in the...
