Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Whitehall

I'm really disappointed and upset about my experience here at Rita's Italian Ice. I came in and I ordered a regular mango gelati and it was so flavorless and it had black gunk in the ice. The custard also was not the normal colored vanilla it was yellow and tasted old, I was getting a treat not only for myself but for my grandmother as well. The customer service was also horrible, I understand that having multiple customers at a time can be stressful and put the employees under pressure, but I have never felt so disrespected in my entire life. When I walked up I was not greated and I still was indecisive as to what I wanted and the employee rudely asked me, "What do you want!", so I just gave my order. I waited for a bit until I finally got my order to only see that it was not good AT ALL!!!! If I could give zero stars I would because your money would be better spent elsewhere, where you are not treated with such disrespect and poor...

Dog owners beware!! Prepare to be publicly humiliated if you go to this Rita's location!! My wife and I went to Rita's to get our dog a vanilla custard treat. She was left in the car with the windows down for a total of 3 minutes while we ordered her treat (first in line and everything). While ordering a girl got out of her car and asked who's dog it was and said she was going to call the police. We walked directly past her car to order! She was wearing a Rita's shirt and told us that she was "just doing her job". So apparently Rita's is paying their employees to sit in vehicles and watch for dogs left in cars!!

As a side note, it was warm out that day but the A/C was blasting before we got out of the car and it was still cold when we got back inside.

We have gone to this Rita's for months and not had any problems but we will certainly not be going back after being publicly humiliated for doing...

I’ve never written a review for anything but after this summer I feel like it’s finally time. I’ve been going to this Rita’s location for years and never had an issue until now. All summer the ice, compared to other locations, was very chunky and the flavors were dull. This wasn’t much of a problem until my last visit in which my boyfriend and I, while eating our chunky and flavorless ice, were both injured by our spoons. Both of our spoons were extremely sharp, and when pulling the spoon out of our mouths, we both, within minutes, cut the corners of our cheeks. His cut was minor compared to mine. I had a one inch gash that, a week later, is still very infected and painful. BE CAUTIOUS, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN. Or go to the one...
