Blue Fin Sushi in Las Vegas offers a decent, if not spectacular, option for those craving Japanese cuisine. Stepping into the establishment, the ambiance is fairly standard for a sushi restaurant – clean, well-lit, and generally comfortable, though it doesn't boast any particularly unique or memorable decor. The menu at Blue Fin presents a solid array of classic sushi and sashimi options, along with a selection of rolls and a few cooked dishes. On my visit, the fish was fresh enough, with the standard cuts of tuna and salmon tasting as expected. The nigiri was prepared competently, holding its form without being overly pressed. However, the rice, while acceptable, didn't quite reach the perfect nuanced balance of sweetness and acidity that truly elevates top-tier sushi. Where Blue Fin truly shines is its reliability. You won't find avant-garde creations or mind-blowing culinary artistry, but you will find consistently prepared, palatable sushi. The service was attentive and efficient, ensuring a smooth dining experience. For a casual dinner or a quick sushi fix, Blue Fin adequately fills the void. It’s a reliable neighborhood spot that delivers on its promise of decent sushi without trying to be something it’s not, making it a perfectly fine choice for a Las Vegas meal when you're in the mood for something straightforward and satisfying.

Loved this sushi place! They have a good menu of appetizers, rolls, nigiri with rice ( but labeled sashimi), and desserts. You can either buy a la cart or you can pay a flat fee (27pp for dinner on a Friday night when we visited) and get whatever you want anywhere on the menu. We both did the all you can eat option and it was the best value I've ever seen. It wasn't like other restaurants that add extra rice and less filling if you order all you can eat. And they let us order half rolls so we could try more things without the commitment of a full roll. Overall, we had miso soup, seaweed salad, many many half rolls, a few sashimi which were very generous, and a bit of dessert. The manager basically talked us into the dessert even though we were pretty full. Our favorite rolls were the western with the sauteed onions on top and red dragon I think which was possibly the best spicy tuna we've ever had. The sushi chefs were great and kept asking us what we wanted next. We ate at the sushi bar and arrived around 9pm so we had great service. Can't believe how well we ate for the price! Will definitely be back.

I was very happy with how fast the food was served, fresh, hot and delicious! There was an extremely friendly and awesome gentleman server that I wish I could remember his name. He was very professional. The restaurant is very clean but lacked in decor. But it's much better than overdoing it. So it is very "airy" and open. Two other servers, not too friendly, just very bland. They were nice and professional as well. I will definitely come back on my next visit and I do recommend this place! Please order the AYCE menu. It's worth it! We ordered las Vegas Raiders roll, Wet Dream, Spicy Krab, Spicy Tuna, Chicken Teriyaki, Squid Karaage, veggie spring rolls, fried gyoza and strawberry jubilee and green tea mochi for dessert. They serve ice cold beers for additional cost, of course. Out of everything (we went with a party of 4), I would say the chicken teriyaki could have been a little crisper. That's it though. It was all delicious. One other small thing, the strawberry jubilee my niece ordered was more than half melted by the time it got to the table. But she said it was otherwise good.

Food was not good and service was not good either! I read reviews and most were good so thought I would give it a try. I read a 1 star review about how their order was forgotten but thought how much can that happen. We started with our order of 2 rolls and 4 sushi orders. They forgot 2 of our sushi orders. Then we tried to order a simple salmon and crab hand roll with spicy sauce. We were told they could not make it. The waitress who barely spoke English was not understanding us and kept asking what do you mean. Being from LA, We are big sushi eaters and we know what is good and fresh food. Nothing that we ordered was good, in our opinion. Unfortunately, this was NOT good fresh fish. We went for the AYCE and it was not worth it. We typically go to Kaisen which is amazing and worth every penny. Blue fin was a big disappointment. Then half way through they forgot another order. My son ordered a bowl of just crab meat. I had explain 3-4 times as another waitress asked the same question as the previous lady, what do I mean. I just kept saying what do you mean, what do I mean, put crab in a bowl. So finally they bring a hand mushed ball of crab on a plate over a bed of white noodles. When putting it on the table the ball of crab rolled off the plate onto the table. I tried to make the best of it and just kept laughing until my husband said let's just go. What a waste of money. The only thing we really enjoyed was our beer. Even the miso soup tasted funky. I would not recommend. I dont know how this place has so many good reviews? Either way, would say try somewhere else, unless you like to...

Note this review was from an earlier visit in the year and not from a visit posted on this date.

Came here and treated my dad and sister to lunch. The food was tasty with good variety and the atmosphere was nice.

Where the room for improvement comes in is the service. My dad had/has diverticulitis, and thus needs to avoid seeds and the like. When we ordered a roll that came with sesame/poppy seeds on it, we asked that those be left off due to my dad's condition, the waitress heard and assured us it would be done.

The roll comes out and said seeds are on it. We point it out and the waitress apologies, we say it's ok, he just won't eat it and no need to make another, perhaps my sister and I will be able to eat it anyways instead of just throwing the whole thing out (we end up have a piece or 2 from it). So she leaves us to continue with our dinner.

When the check comes, I see an extra charge for unfinished food (we had all got all you can eat). I ask the waitress why this is on there and she points to the roll that came with the seeds that's still in our table.

I say that it was made incorrectly and we were being nice about even attempting to eat it as to not waste, so being charged for it is absurd. She insists rules are rules and since it's the only food still on the table, we get charged extra for it and walks off. This is the main reason why service...
