Mr Sandwich — Restaurant in Whittier

I saw reviews and thought I’d try the place out. I arrived on a Saturday at 2:46pm. A hand written sign on the door said they are closing at 3pm that day. I pull the door and it was locked. I looked in and see a worker at the register. I point to my watch and she holds up 3 fingers saying they are closed at 3pm. I hold up 3 fingers and say it’s not 3pm yet. She shrugs her shoulders and ignores me. Don’t care how good people say the sandwiches are, rude staff and bad service will loose my business every time. Never going to come back. If you say you are going to close at 3pm, then close at 3pm, and 15 mins before.

Ordered twice this month (the rocko and chicken patty melt) and the sandwich was very difficult to swallow since the chicken was too dry. The staff is unbelievably rude. I ordered 20 minutes after they opened at 10 am and arrived by 10:40 am and the restaurant was closed. I waited outside for 10 minutes after knocking on the door and calling the restaurant. The worker there (Juan) rudely unlocked the door. Before leaving I told him I wanted to let them know that the sandwich previously ordered (the rocko) was super dry. 8/29/2025 Located in Uptown Whittier. It has been a while since we ate here but today, after a busy morning, we stopped here for a quick bite, and this was a treat for us. David is a master sandwich artist, we see him slicing up fresh deli meats for our sandwiches, the sandwich fillings are fresh; I enjoyed my submarine sandwich, and my husband enjoyed his spicy Italian sandwich, it was refreshing to sit there inside where it was nice and cool, great music to listen to while enjoying our meals.
