Turnbull's Tavern — Restaurant in Whittier

This is strictly a review on service and not food. The food itself was decent and the elote fries are a 5/5! But unfortunately, the service was horrible. Our server Jasmin never asked us for refills (we went to McDonald's after to get a coke since she never came back to refill our beverages) and seemed to enjoy talking to the hostess instead of walking over to talk to us (keep in mind, we were seated outside and 10 ft from the hostess stand). When my husband politely asked for more Chipotle Mayo, she felt the need to state that his dish didn't come with chipotle mayo and would bring the "correct sauce".... this was for his elote fries and the description clearly stated that it has chipotle mayo.... why she had attitude, I'll never know. I was legit jealous of the other patrons because their server was on top of it and I could see that she was doing a great job. Somehow the other server was rocking her multiple tables but Jasmin couldn't handle our one table. FINALLY someone came and picked up our plates and we were able to ask for our check and then Jasmin magically appeared to take our payment and then left to go eat her gummy bears and Gatorade that she had asked her coworker for. I kid you not, this is the conversation I heard her having instead of helping...

I stopped in last sunday afternoon to explore a new sports bar to enjoy Sunday football and honestly, I won't be returning. First of all the bartender was mostly rude and basically, in my opinion, negative, unsocial and lazy. There was only a couple customers in the whole place and she moped around not really doing anything for about 15-20 minutes before finally serving me. Her attitude as she served me gave me the feeling I was not welcome. Then the price of a drink shocked me. I paid for 1 drink with a $20 and got $9 in one dollar bills back. After a $2 tip I paid $13 all together for a simple, regular drink. Too much for me to afford, and not even a large glass! Then the customer next to me asked if she would change the big TV in the middle of the room to the football game, since all 3 were on a baseball game, and the bartender kinda ignored for a while, then didn't want to, but finally did put the game on about the time I finished my tiny, expensive drink... and I left. But the place has a nice interior and layout for a sports bar... too bad, I'll...

To whom it may concern,

I normally don't write reviews; the issue was that I did not get the service that should be a minimum requirement for every restaurant in the restaurant business. One of the issues was that my waitress had way too many table's I had to ask for different waiters / waitress to see if my food was ready after 30 minutes of waiting for my appetizer. My wife forgot her glasses at the table and they threw them away. The following day I tried contacting the business left my cell phone number multiple times for someone to contact me no one did I had to go into the restaurant to see if anybody has turned anything in. I know my wife personal effects we're left behind because after we left to a bar she was not wearing them I had only assume that she had them in her purse. Their focus is in customer operations it's get in and get out. Play some good music. Not worth $175 that I paid. Castaway gives way! better service for the same...
