Hog Wild Pit Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Wichita

I eat here every so often and go through the drive thru, but this evening I didn't have the best experience customer service wise...

I placed a pickup order through Doordash. I come in, the restaurant isn't very full. The gentleman at the front counter isn't very attentive, but I notice there's a pickup window for Doordash orders, so I head there assuming I was in the incorrect spot. I stand there for I don't know how long, the employees keep looking at me but turning back around. I see a bag with my name on it, pushed outwards so I think customers are able to pickup their own food. When grabbing my order, the woman finally acknowledges me and goes through my bag and states they've had problems with customers getting the incorrect food which is why I "cannot reach back and take stuff..." I remind her I had been standing there for a while but still tell her to have a good night.

While exiting, I stop at a table to check my items to ensure accuracy. From the counter, she yells at me "YOU CANNOT GO THROUGH CUSTOMER'S FOOD AND WE STILL HAVE ONE MORE ITEM FROM YOUR ORDER." At that point, I also became irritated and repeated the energy when telling her again, this is MY order and I'm not a DoorDash driver which is what I said in the first place. They just leave my final item on the counter so I come back to get it and finally exit...

Maybe this was a bad night, but I'm not impressed with the customer service skills of the lobby employees and their lack of communication they have regarding guests picking up their meals... Especially for this being my first pickup order from them. If grabbing orders is not allowed, they should've acknowledged me within the first couple of minutes of standing at the pickup window and...

The title of this review is: I should have turned on the Traeger.

My recent trip to Hog Wild left much to be desired, in fact one could say that it was simply disappointing. Utilizing the Drive Thru, I ordered a half a slab of ribs. The order took longer than expected, probably due to the customer in front of me, who appeared to be very needy and rude. I will say the employee at the window was extremely professional not only to the unruly customer, but very kind to me as well. After securing my order, I promptly drove home. When I opened the ribs I immediately noticed 2 things:

The ribs were not individually sliced. (I'm not sure if the ribs are normally presented this way, but they should not be)

The ribs were completely overcooked. It was as if I had ordered a pork like mush, akin to the pink slime McDonalds allegedly put in their chicken nuggets, that had a 5 bones randomly sticking out of it.

Hog Wild is usually consistent with the quality of their product. The ribs I received on this outing were the worst I have ever eaten. If only I had set the Traeger to...

A very good BBQ place with a large selection of food. Staff was friendly and helpful, food was cooked thoroughly. The brisket was average, the pulled pork sweet and the ribs were the best part. Coleslaw was what you would expect, mac-n-cheese was super cheesy (good thing), and the beans were fantastic! Location is easy to get to but the only complaints I have is the amount of files around the joint and hottest sauce was not too hot... I understand flies are hard to combat, but didnt see a single method to combat it and the hot sauce thing might just be me, I spent a lot of time in Louisianna and Texas. All-in-all, I would definitely come back...
