LaMar's Donuts and Coffee — Restaurant in Wichita

Establishment was clean and nicely decorated. From the smell when you walk in you can tell they make their donuts in house. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. We arrived there 20 mins before closing time on a Sunday. The selection available was still very good for not having gotten there earlier. There were no sprinkle donuts available but they made one for my 5 year old. We got a dozen donuts and the price was acceptable, they also offer a military discount at this location. The donuts were good and of places we have tried so far since we moved to Wichita this place has had the best. It is rare that my kids agree on anything but they did agree on that! The only donuts I would say I didn’t care for were the Devils Food Cake and the Chocolate Chip Cake donuts. They had an somewhat artificial/too sweet flavor to them. My experience was hardly that. I walked in not too long before close (I’m not the kind of person to walk in minutes before closing…as somebody who works in retail I find that rude). I went with somebody else and we weren’t being incredibly quiet, or trying not to be, but nobody went to the counter to try to help us. We looked around the corner towards the back area (from what we could see on the outside of the counter) but nobody was there. There was a kid there who looked bored as he sat, but he was the only one we actually saw. We waited there several minutes, even placed our bets on how many M&Ms were in the jar on the counter, but nobody came to help us. TL;DR LaMar's is just as good as you remember it and the new fangled shops have nothing on them.

I grew up eating and loving LaMar's Donuts. For the last 30 years, they have consistently delivered as the best and most consistent donut shop. There is always a large variety of good quality and tasty donuts, something for everyone. If they don't have the donut you want that day, you can always special order ahead and they can custom make anything. Ask about their special giant birthday donut sometime!

The staff is always top notch. I had an especially heart-warming interaction with Kim the last time I visited. Everyone is great and I always enjoy my experience.
