I've had the pleasure of dining at this Mexican restaurant in the heart of Wichita multiple times, and I can confidently say that this place never disappoints. Each visit has been a delightful experience, making it one of my go-to spots for authentic Mexican cuisine. First and foremost, the location is ideal. Situated in the vibrant downtown area, it's easily accessible and surrounded by the lively energy of the city. Whether you're looking for a spot to unwind after a busy day or a place to kick off your weekend, this restaurant's central location makes it a perfect choice. The atmosphere is another standout feature. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm, inviting ambiance that immediately sets the tone for a wonderful dining experience. The decor is a beautiful blend of traditional Mexican elements and contemporary touches, creating a space that's both cozy and chic. The vibrant colors, intricate murals, and tasteful lighting all contribute to an environment that feels both festive and intimate. As for the food, it's nothing short of exceptional. The menu offers a diverse range of dishes, each bursting with flavor and authenticity. Whether you're craving classic tacos, savory enchiladas, or a hearty burrito, you'll find something to satisfy your taste buds. The ingredients are always fresh, and the presentation is top-notch. I've also been impressed by the variety of options available for those with dietary restrictions, ensuring that everyone can find something to enjoy. The service is consistently excellent, with attentive and friendly staff who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. They're knowledgeable about the menu and always ready to offer recommendations or accommodate special requests. This level of customer care truly enhances the overall dining experience. In addition to the fantastic food and service, the restaurant also offers a great selection of beverages. The margaritas are a must-try, perfectly balanced and refreshing. There's also a good range of beers and other cocktails to complement your meal. In summary, this Mexican restaurant in Wichita is a true gem. Its prime location, inviting atmosphere, and consistently delicious food make it a standout choice for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable dining experience. Whether you're a local or just passing through, I highly recommend giving this place a visit. You won't be disappointed!

Tremendous Mexican food in Old Town, between Douglas and 1st Street, accessible off of Mosley or Washington. Playa’s chips and salsa are some of the best in town and make a great appetizer while exploring their loaded menu. My favorite pick off of it is any combination meal that includes the chili relleno. They make these stuffed chili peppers here full of delicious meat and are perfectly coated with egg, then topped with cheese and sauce. I can suggest other tasty items like their tacos, enchiladas, and avocado salads. They also have one of my favorite dining areas around thanks to its bright and creative Mexican decor that gives a vivid atmosphere to the restaurant. I can highly recommend Playa Azul’s as one of Wichita’s best places for Mexican cuisine.

My visit to Playa Azul and the Mexican restaurant today was simply outstanding. The tacos al pastor I ordered were served on a beautiful dish, with an abundance of perfectly seasoned meat. Each bite was a burst of flavor. My family enjoyed quesadillas, shrimp tacos, and fajitas, all of which were equally delicious, hot, and fresh. The salsa was a highlight—deliciously spicy and bursting with flavor. The chips arrived warm and crispy, the perfect accompaniment to the salsa. The waitress was incredibly kind and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. Even when we encountered a minor issue (unrelated to the food), the staff was very helpful and resolved it quickly. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience that I highly recommend.

Friendly place, good atmosphere. However, the meals were made with lower quality components, and based on the 10 items my group ordered, are very bland and not creative. For example, I had an enchilada and a burrito and besides the size, they were exactly alike: flour tortilla, ground hamburger and red sauce. The beans and Spanish rice were standard low- quality boxed or canned items and there was no attempt at adding garnish or any other special touches to any of this. I would be ashamed to serve a meal like this to family, would refuse to serve it to guests and the $9 price was rather high for the meal. I know that running a business - especially a restaurant - is expensive, but it is possible to serve creative, vibrant food without added cost. For example, cook your own beans and mash them - with spices - instead of buying canned. Leave a little texture for home-cooked appeal. Remove some of the meat from the burrito and replace it with (cheaper) lettuce, fried potato chunks (not super authentic but still acceptable - and again, cheaper than the meat) and a sprinkle of cheese - cheddar works, but it would make things even more authentic (and cheaper) if authentic Mexican style cheeses were used.

Anyway, I doubt the owners really need my opinion since they’ve been in business for quite some time without any input from me, but I do know that I will not be back and would not recommend this...

Very unpleased with the managers (“ Victor”) customer service. The servers are nice though. I went in today for lunch like I often do and like always I’m NEVER greeted with friendly or welcoming service from the angry and unpleasant manger at the front ( victor, he says his name is) … I asked my waiter what was the drink special he told me $2.99 for 3 different flavor drinks .So I ordered 2 drinks with my food today (which I never usually get). When I got my ticket back I went to the front to pay for my order and explained to the manger I was charged incorrectly for my drinks ,he then went to say no you were charged the correct price and told me that I’m a regular, so I should know this information. After explaining to him that’s the information that I was told from his waiter, he argued with me, huffed and told me that he was going to fire his waiter (Jose - with the curly hair) And that he would fix the order for me this one time. WOOW!!!!!! I will NEVER again support or bring my business back to this company. Get different management ASAP!! Because VICTOR is terrible!! Not sure if he is racist, I just know when I come in he is NEVER pleasant. Not sure why I even continued to come to this place anyways after the service I am constantly provided by him. But again the waiters/...
