During my recent visit to Wasabi Hinkaku in Wichita, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional dining experience, highlighted by outstanding service, generous portions, and meticulous attention to detail.
From the moment I arrived, Hugh's warm and attentive service set the tone for the evening. His knowledge of the menu and genuine enthusiasm enhanced the dining experience, making me feel truly welcomed and valued. I began my meal with an order of Crab Rangoons, which were a delightful start. The crispy wonton wrappers encased a creamy blend of crab and cream cheese, delivering a satisfying crunch with each bite. The portion size was generous, offering excellent value and setting a high standard for the courses to follow.
For the main course, I selected the Dragon Roll and the Super Tiger Roll, both of which showcased Wasabi Hinkaku's commitment to quality and presentation. The Dragon Roll featured a harmonious combination of crab and avocado, topped with eel and additional avocado slices, all drizzled with eel sauce. The flavors melded beautifully, and the presentation was both elegant and appetizing.
The Super Tiger Roll was a standout, combining crab, tempura shrimp, and avocado, topped with spicy tuna, additional avocado, ebi, spicy mayo, eel sauce, and a crunchy finish. Each bite offered a complex layering of textures and flavors, demonstrating the chef's skill and attention to detail. The use of fresh, high-quality ingredients was evident, elevating the overall dining experience.
Throughout the meal, the presentation of each dish was impeccable, reflecting a dedication to culinary artistry. The vibrant colors and thoughtful plating enhanced the visual appeal, making the dishes as pleasing to the eye as they were to the palate.
In conclusion, Wasabi Hinkaku offers an exceptional dining experience, characterized by outstanding service, generous portions, and a meticulous approach to both flavor and presentation. Hugh's attentive service, combined with the restaurant's commitment to quality, ensuring that guests enjoy a memorable meal. I highly recommend Wasabi Hinkaku to anyone seeking a super sushi...
Read moreYou know what it is. If you like sushi and not a snob, it's a wallet friendly restaurant. The decor is cute. The atmosphere could be better. The wait staff is friendly enough and tend to get orders correct. Keeping in mind that this is Wichita Kansas. When I moved here back in the early '90s I was surprised by how rude everyone was. I am from the Houston Texas area. I was just accustomed to Southern hospitality. What I thought was rude is actually just familiarity. I would say the wait staff is familiar. They're informal in a good way. I'm assuming that the pay for the staff isn't very high. I haven't ever seen the place packed and the turnover for the wait staff seems to be frequent (not that we go there more than once a month). We do not see the same servers that we saw from former visits. The chefs are not cordial like you might expect at a sushi place. The chefs on the East side of town great us when they aren't too busy and always offer salutations as we're leaving. We like to order flaming dishes on occasion. They haven't arrived in flames the past 2 times ( probably due to fire code). It's ok if they light it after they set it down. It's not fun if you have to ask them to do it. We didn't ask either time. We are Lame! The items we have ordered have (torched) written at the very end. We assumed that it would be set on fire. Perhaps an explanation could be printed on the menu or the wait staff could explain what "torched" means upon ordering the item. My immediate family, friends, and other people I talk to recommend this place. If you enjoy sushi this could easily become your go-to place. It is ours. In fact I recently had an anniversary at work. They offered to take me anywhere I wanted to for lunch. I chose the east...
Read moreNegative 10 stars. Delivered the wrong roll (through Uber Eats). I first attempted to go through Uber Eats, but after uploading a picture of wrong item and reporting the issue, was informed that I should contact the restaurant. Called and was on hold for 20+ minutes. Called again, spoke to a young woman who said I would have to bring the roll back in to prove it was the wrong roll, I offered to text a photo but didn’t have time to drive all the way downtown to prove the wrong item was delivered, she then tried to blame the Uber driver which I said was not the driver’s fault and not her responsibility to open my order and make sure the restaurant did their job, was put on hold and then hung up on. Called a 3rd time, asked for manager, could hear her in the background saying it wasn’t their fault and there was nothing they could do, then was told she was busy and not able to talk to me even though she clearly was standing there, they asked to take my name and number and call me back later, which clearly meant they would promptly lose my number and never call back. Now I am out $30+ and can’t eat what they sent since it has an ingredient I cannot eat. I have been eating at this place for many years. Never again. Any owner/manager who demands the customer drive over 20 minutes just to prove they sent the wrong order clearly shouldn’t be in a management position. Abysmal service and disgusting excuse...
