We went to eat here last Friday, before we received our lunch a gentleman was WOOD STAINING the dining areas and was 3 feet from us using wood stain. I am pregnant and the blatant disregard for the comfort/safety of ourselves and all the other customers eating lunch was disgusting. The wood stain he was using was in a plastic painter's cup and the smell of chemical was very, very strong. The waitress we had was great but the manager was stand offish and was almost argumentative about the situation. I asked why someone was wood staining around patrons eating and especially during lunch hour and the only response I received from their manager was "He got a late start." That shouldn't matter, no one should have to smell wood stain or any other chemical while eating lunch. I asked him if the wood stain was food safe and he could only respond with "It's water based." I told him that's not what I asked and he didn't have an answer for us. I could hear other patrons complaining and honestly this should be looked into further. They did move us upstairs but I could still smell the wood stain. We had already ordered so I told my boyfriend lets eat quickly and leave. Very disappointed in this location. Also, when I look towards the front I found it disconcerting that the manager was staring at me, mean mugging me. YOU are the one in the wrong sir. Won't be returning to this location again and have half a mind to report him and this location to the Food Safety and Inspection Service. Read moreMy Wife and I came in to Wichita' s east side location on Tuesday 07/11/2023. We entered the establishment about 5pm hungry for some seafood. Normally we are not Red Lobster goers because we think it can be slightly overpriced and the last couple times we went to the West Side location, we didnt think it tasted good, and our stomachs were slightly upset. But we had a gift card so we gave the east side location a try. We walked in and were greeted immediately and brought back to our table which was clean. Honestly the whole restaurant didnt smell like fish, and was very clean, including the restrooms which was nice. After we sat down we were quickly and promptly greeted by our waiter, Ben. You can tell Ben was ready for the evening because he was excited to see us, and more than capable to answer any questions we had. We did ask Ben a few questions about appetizers and the entrees which were no challenge to him. He was thrilled to help us in any way possible. So my wife and I ordered the new Shrimp stuffed with crab rangoon appetizer, which was probably one of the best appetizers i have ever had. The i got the daily special the shrimp and lobster tacos and my wife got the Fish and chips. My Tacos were delicious, even though it didnt come with a side, it was plenty of food. My wife got the fish and chips, which the batter for the cod was very crispy, the fish was cooked all the way through and delicious. Service was very slow, as someone who works in a restaurant I have lots of patience. But the server was noticeably absent for 5-7 minutes at a time. When the food came only 2/3rds arrived and both plates were very cold. I wanted to take it back but no servers were around! No joke, 10 mins later the rest of the food came out. It was also cold, so I sent it back and asked for the manager. She apologized and without explanation offered to buy all the dinners. 15 (seriously) minutes later she brought a new check out that had one comped meal and 20% discount. After a while I asked to have the new food Togo. After yet another 10-15 minutes with no server or anyone coming by our table, just running food to tables in the area, no one would acknowledge us or say how much time was left I became very irritated and told the manager to delete the payment and they could keep the food. She said, "okay I'm very sorry" and that was all! I figured at least she would let us know how much time was left, but to charge us $60 for cold food that was replacing bad food was unbelievable. No one seemed to care we wasted over an hour with no explanation. Obviously I would never return and I will tell anyone who will listen to never go to this location.
