The friend I ate with didn't get flavoring in her Diet Coke, a simple addition she alway orders, and without fail, received at Sonic. She always orders, her drink with no ice, and receives it that way. This Sonic put ice in her drink. These are simple requests to fill, and she's a loyal Sonic customer, because Sonic reliably fills her orders for a huge flavored diet drink, (no ice), and there's a Sonic in whatever city she travels to. Sonic also has a couple of healthy options for the diet she follows. There's always the possibilty of an understandable reason for temporary blips in service. But the Woodlawn Sonic may just have a tradition of very casual adherence to excellence of service. My friend has pitched in to help out with time, transportation, and advice, in my husband and my whole house renovation. This isn't the first time we've landed at the Woodlawn, in Wichita, Sonic, for convenience. I've consistently gotten sandwiches with mayonnaise, or with onions, or cheese, in spite of having been at pains to specifically request that those items not appear on my good, for 30 years, and have the order repeated, etc., etc. I'd have to guess that the Woodlawn Sonic falls under something I figured out when I was a teenager; As the management goes, so goes the company (resteraunt, store - fill in the blank for what kind, corporation, heath care services,). Read moreThis has got to be right up there with one of the worst sonics in Wichita. I have been there a few times and every single time there has been a long wait or a huge issue or just rude workers.
Tonight I ordered my food on the app at 8:08 p.m.. the app said the food would be ready by 8:14 but having been to the Sonic before, I waited for a little while longer and checked in at 8:19 p.m. At 8:39 p.m., I decided to go to the drive-thru speaker and still waited 5 more minutes for my food. 35 minutes later, I finally headed home with my food.
When the guy handed me my food out the window, I asked him if it was fresh or if it had been sitting for a while. He said to the best of his knowledge it was fresh but they've got a lot of orders at one time. Side note, there was one other car in drive-thru and maybe a total of six cars At all the stalls.
I just got home to to tater tots that were not even lukewarm and a barley warm ultimate burrito. 😐
This is the closest Sonic to my new place, but from now on I will be bypassing Sonic as an option.
And I ordered a large diet Dr. Pepper with extra ice and a medium diet Dr pepper with no ice. The large diet Dr. Pepper hardly had any ice in it at all and the medium head none, as requested.

It's apparent there's not enough people at this location paying attention/caring-- just look at the reviews and even the canned responses by corp. to the reviews left by others recently.
The short story is we stopped in Sunday afternoon when there were not a lot of customers, to get a meal and a couple of drinks. Waited 20 mins, checked back in, was told it was done and just needed delivered to the car (and I couldn't come get it). 10-15 mins later we left, no food, no drinks, no sign of anyone coming, and were still charged for everything and the tip. It's basically the same story the other reviewers in the last few weeks have reported.
I completed 2 surveys the company sent and gave them all week to respond. I have heard nothing, nor received a refund, so I was compelled to leave this here.
