Founders Grub & Pub — Restaurant in Wildwood

We decided to have dinner at Founders after looking for nice dinner on the Boardwalk for the last night of our vacation. The main dining room as crowded and did not feel like the air condition was on, so we requested outdoor seating which was nice. Our server was friendly and had a great eye for detail, even reading back our order to make sure everything was correct. Sadly, when the food arrived it looked like every other burger joint on the boards. We had an order of wings for the table, the buffalo sauce was very thin and the wings had the texture of being microwaved.My son had the crab cake sandwich which came with two pickle chips and a small bag of potato chips, he said was OK. My wife had appetizer chicken fingers and the shrimp and grits, the grits were very good, the chicken fingers were nothing special.My son's girlfriend and myself had Founders burgers. Her's was off the menu, mine was a special order adding bleu cheese and bacon. Mine burger came with bleu cheese salad dressing and the kitchen forgot the bacon. When it was brought out to the table it was definitely microwaved. All this was served in a plastic baskets with a wax paper liner or a paper boats. Our overall experience was that the food quality did not justify the nearly $200 bill. But our server...

Found a piece of a plastic glove they use to serve food with inside of my chicken Caesar salad wrap. When I stopped eating it, feeling sick, I contacted the waiter and he got the manager. I thought they both would come over, maybe apologize for the mistake, offer a dessert or something to make up for the egregious error…but the waiter shrugged and said he’d take it off my bill if I wanted. The manager walked right by our table and said nothing…then I had to wait additional time to have it removed from my bill. I sat next to the kitchen as well and there was no mention of the incident to the individuals cooking the food, so it could have kept happening over and over throughout the day. Be warned…I’d spend my hard earned money elsewhere. Somewhere it’s appreciated and you don’t eat...

We had their version of bang bang shrimp as an appetizer and it was tasty. Decent portion too. My wife had a burger which she enjoyed (although asked for well do e and got medium well). My mom had a cheesesteak which she really liked. I had the Buffalo Chicken wrap and it was quite tasty. A little light on the amount of chicken, but not so light to be upset about. We got a children's menu hit dog and French fries for our daughter and it was a huge hot dog. That's not a bad thing because it was pretty inexpensive considering the price of boardwalk food. All in all it was a nice experience. The server was very nice. The fountain drinks were generously sized.

I wish I would would have had the chance to drink tonight as there were some tasty sounding...
