I have never been to a Moes before, so I was excited to see it was similar to Qdoba, since I just moved here from out of state. Upon arrival, the menu looked great and the food smelled amazing, but the entirety of the restaurant was dirty. Being the day after Christmas, I didn't expect it to be crazy busy and it wasn't when I was there around 6pm. There was a bit of a line after I went through. The female completing my order did not seem enthused that I asked for Queso on my wrap, she just looked up at me, gave me a face like "seriously?" and I had to ask for it again before she added it to my meal. The man at the register did not have a welcoming vibe at all and made it seem like we were inconveniencing him when it came to paying for our food. My mother asked for our food in to go containers and asked for both to be made into meals so that we could have chips and Queso. The employee working the register grabbed a small handful of chips and tossed it in with my wrap, neither in to go containers and gave us one of the single servings of Queso, the female who made my meal also leaned in to tell him that I also had queso on my wrap.. maybe it costs extra, I'm not sure, but it felt more like an insult that I had ordered queso on my wrap. Since we did not get our food to go, we decided to sit and eat, but every table top was dirty with sauce or crubs and some benches even had empty food and drink containers on them. Honestly, It seemed like the place hadn't been cleaned since before Christmas. The food was good, but it was awkward that one of the employees came over, swept the floor next to us, asked us how our food was and then sat in the booth next to us to eat. I get that my complaints are petty and overall the food was good, but I was disappointed in the lack of hospitality and cleanliness of the Restaurant. I don't want to sit on a seat with food on it, I don't want to set my food on a dirty table and I don't want to pay for two full meals when we didn't get the...
Read moreThis has got to go down as one of the worst, and single most aggravating places that I've ever attempted to get lunch at. I have an hour lunch break which has always been more than enough time to go get lunch locally, eat and return to work with a good 10-15 minutes to spare. At least it was until I attempted to get a Burrito at Moe's during the one o'clock hour. There was a line, but no larger in volume than any other restaurant I frequent at this hour. However, it is quite obvious that the staff was completely overwhelmed. I only had 8 people in front of me and the person manning the tortilla grill couldn't get a single order correctly. The person manning the fixings station was just as lost. I waited approximately half an hour before it was finally my turn. I repeated myself 3 times before he finally got it right. Then I had the same issue with the fixings. In the meantime, none of the 8 people in front of me in line had been cashed out so now we waited some more. Finally the line inched a long and at 49 minutes into my lunch hour, it was finally my turn to be cashed out. However, as I approached the register, my Burrito had disappeared, no doubt given to the person in front of me, by mistake. The cashier then told me that I could get back in line and reorder. There were at least a dozen people in the line behind me. Needless to say, I didn't have that kind of time to wait since I only had eleven eleven minutes to return to work so I just threw up my hands and left. I didn't have enough time to grab anything to eat anywhere else and spent the rest of my day with my stomach...
Read moreI need to share my recent experience because it could have gone very badly. I have an avocado allergy and made it clear when ordering that my meal needed to be made without guacamole. Unfortunately, even after stressing the importance, the meals were mislabeled between mine and my husband’s.
The staff member seemed new, but food allergies aren’t something that can be brushed off. My husband started eating what was labeled as his stack and, after eating a bit less than half, mentioned there wasn’t any guac inside (sometimes it can be buried deeper). Thankfully, it took me that long to get to eat, and I ripped mine open instead of biting into it—because it was full of guacamole, despite being the one labeled for me. If I had eaten even a single bite, I would have been in severe pain.
When I asked for a replacement, it felt like I was an inconvenience instead of someone who could have had a medical emergency due to their mistake. For safety, the team really needs a better system—wrapping labels should always stay with the correct stack on the grill and be double-checked before serving, especially when allergies are involved. On top of that, most of our chips were crumbles and a few bites were overly hard, which only added to the disappointment of the visit.
I understand mistakes happen, and the employee was likely still learning, but allergy protocols are non-negotiable. I hope the management takes this seriously so no one else has to go through the same experience—or worse, as I was lucky my husband is such a fast eater and realized the mistake before I took a...
