When my fiance and I arrived, we didn’t know if it was open because there weren’t many people inside or even outside. I was more hesitant but as soon as I walked in, I was impressed with the interior space. As a designer and all things architecture, I was immediately satisfied with the ambiance and the approach from our server. As we looked at the menu, I could tell right away that it was authentic and just the right amount of appetizers and entree’s. Our server was extremely helpful and made the perfect suggestions for drinks and even told us a little bit about this restaurant and that it’s been there for 25 years! I was shocked since I never heard about this place and I cannot wait to share with friends and family; even anyone who is traveling through Delaware. It is a must try. It was very slow but it really was nice to have a casual night out to a quiet dinner setting. The food was amazing and loved the portions and craft that the chef curated. I had the groundhog cocktail and the lobster ravioli. If he doesn’t have an award, he really deserves one. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a night out for dinner or even a larger group. The prices are very affordable compared to other restaurants that aren’t even really that good. This is...

I have been to Cafe Mezzanotte several times in the last month because of business and always had a great time. Unfortunately this past Thursday wasn't so great. Let me start by saying the meal and drinks were great however the way the male bartender was speaking to the female bartender was very strange. He seemed to be yelling and chastising her in front of guests. He was speaking under his breath to us about her and we have been extremely happy with her service. She has catered to all of our needs the last two times we were in as well as this night and was answering our questions when he deecided to belittle her. It was obvious that she became upset and it took all I had to not say something. With this being said we most likely won't be back. I mentioned this to a few of our friends that frequent Cafe Mezzanotte and they to had issues with the bartender. They were uncertain of his name but after describing him they agreed. It is not like me to leave a negative review but I feel as though this...

Cafe Mezzanotte is a wonderful place to dine with friends and family. Sergio Pellegrino and his wonderful Staff are a true treat. When you enter the Restaurant you are greeted with a warm smile and a immediate feel of comfort. Theres even a private dining area well equiped to serve some of the most intimate dining pleasures. Christopher the Mixologist makes the most unique and refreshing drinks to please your taste. Hint Hint the Sangria is so thirst quenching. The lavender Lemonade straight or spiked is beautifully prepared. Keala and the rest of the staff make sure you are well fed and happy with your dining experience. If you want some of the most authentic freah Italian food in a intimate setting then wait no more. Also during the current COVID restrictions the space is very adequate and set up to state regulations. Once your inside you are no longer a friend but your...

If you’re wanting Italian food, come here. This place is truly an amazing hidden gem, like some of these other reviews say. I wish more people knew about this food so they stay open, so I won’t gatekeep, but the quiet and quick service is so nice. We got the bolognese and chicken parm, and for dessert we had the tiramisu. Whoever said in these reviews that the tiramisu had too much cocoa powder…the cocoa powder might be the most expensive part of the whole dish. The beef in the bolognese was almost too much beef, but this just goes to show that the chef/owner does not cut corners or skimp on the food, like a lot of restaurants do and get away with. Restaurants operate on slim margins, and I most definitely got the bang for my buck here.

850th different cheesesteak in 3 years and kick off to Drive to 1,000 with special guest eater, Niece Julieanne. This was a very good downtown power lunch cheesesteak. The meat was very good. It was cut somewhere between mini filets and cubed. Very easy to eat. Very good cheese but it settled on the bottom. The roll was very good but too big for this cheesesteak (any more meat and it would have been hard to eat). I’ll give them a pass on the $16 price since the President probably eats there. It came with very good fries.
