I absolutely love this place!! I've been back 3 times since they opened, and everything on the Pantone menu has been outstanding. The space itself is small, but no smaller than any other small coffee shops in this town. The design is absolutely beautiful and the staff is very kind. They also have an attached room that allows for shopping adorable products ranging from cards and journals to bath bombs and even some tea blends.
This is definitely a business that is geared toward grabbing your coffee and going, but they do a good job of providing seating for the few folks that may want to remain. Their outdoor seating area is particularly cute.
I have to say one of my favorite things about this business has been the fact that they do not charge extra for your milk choice. All of their drinks are reasonably priced and very thoughtfully made. If you want any of their pastries, the cinnamon bun was absolutely delicious and I can't wait to have one again.
If you are looking for parking options, just like many of the other places toward downtown Wilmington you will need to choose street parking, but there is an abundance of it in this area. The furthest I've had to park is about a block away and that was on a very busy day. The parking in this area is also not metered so your parking will be free.
Since this business is very new I'll definitely keep up to date on this review, and I will check back after a month or two. But I can say with confidence this is my new go-to spot in Wilmington for...
Read moreI hate leaving a critical review, especially for a new business, but I want this place to succeed so I think it's important to catch issues early and hopefully course correct.
This coffee shop is super cute and the drinks are unique and tasty. Both drinks we got we were happy with.
Unfortunately the operational setup doesn't seem sustainable at all.
The barista was incredibly kind, but the service was glaaaaaacially slow. There were 5 groups of 1 or 2 in front of us and it legitimately took an hour before we could even order. Then another 10 minutes to get our drinks. Not entirely their fault because it's just one person, but it just doesn't seem like there's any sense of urgency to keep things moving along.
Maybe adding a second person behind the counter would help? Not sure what the solution is but the existing setup won't work long term; 3 or 4 groups behind us walked out while waiting.
I really hope they can figure this out because it's a cute shop and the product is good, but it's not worth the wait that it currently entails. Will try again in a few months to see if they've...
Read moreCanary Yellow is an experience unlike anything Wilmington has ever seen. The masterminds behind Brick & Barley put so many sweat and tears into creating this stunning space. No detail was missed and I cannot wait to see the actual “bed” part of this color-themed bed and breakfast once it opens.
Canary Yellow only opened about a week ago and has completely blown up (as expected) on social media. Other than the creative design, specifically curated goods, and delicious treats, the CY team has started their journey by opening their coffee shop. When I tell you it’s incredible… you’re getting, again, an experience unlike any other. Specialty drink recipes that blow any other shop out of the water adorned with Pantone inspired stickers for each individual drink. The staff is so sweet and are churning out delectable concoctions despite being bogged down by the huge turnout. Good problem to have if you ask me. You’ve got to try the signature drinks Canary Yellow and The Shadow. Insane.
Keep killin’ it Canary...
