Wandering Cone Creamery — Restaurant in Wilmington

Me and my husband were going for a quick treat to Dairy Queen the other night and the line there was just too long for me to be standing in at 35 weeks pregnant 😅 so a quick google search and a decision to try something new led us to Wandering Cone Creamery for the first time! 🚙

The shop itself is so cute and welcoming and even though there was a line they served up everyone’s ice cream fast, efficient and with a smile 😊

My husband and I chose 2 flavors in the homemade fancy dipped ice cream cones and I took the pleasure of adding hot fudge topped over my ice cream as well… We received 2 HUGE waffle cones that had been dipped in their chocolate and coated with sprinkles with 2 GENEROUS scoops of ice cream 🤩 all for a WONDERFUL price of $21!!!

First lick of the caramelized banana with Nutella (I believe that’s the name of it LOL) and my taste buds were dying for MORE ! I also had gotten the cold brew ice cream and it was amazing as well! The ice cream itself was creamy and bursting with lots of unique flavors!

Now the waffle cone… my goodness 🤤 My husband LOVES waffle cones anytime we get ice cream and he couldn’t help but say how this was hands down the BEST waffle cone he has ever had ! I myself however do not typically get a waffle cone as every time I’ve ordered one from other multiple places the flavor and texture just isn’t my thing 🤷🏻‍♀️ NOT ANYMORE !!! That waffle cone took me back to when I had my own baking business and I made a homemade snickerdoodle cookie that myself and everyone loved ! 🥰 It was so delicious and the texture from the bite of the cone itself was an experience all in its own! I could literally just eat the waffle cone dipped in their chocolate 🍫

That brings me to the next thing I’d love to compliment and give a suggestion.. THE HOT FUDGE.. Oh my lanta.. I have NEVER had a hot fudge this good ! It wasn’t overly sweet where you eat a little and then you’re done. It had me DYING for more! The flavor was just beyond me and it’s literally the BEST hot fudge I’ve had ANYWHERE ! And I’m not just talking about hot fudge around Wilmington, NC!

Now to my suggestion.. PLEASE PLEASE think about selling your hot fudge in store ! I promise you will not regret it ! I told the sweet cashier (I’m terrible at remembering names lol) that she should pester the owner about bringing the hot fudge to the shelf! 😜

All in all the only thing I regret would be not asking for a spoon to help me cram all the tasty ice cream down faster 😂 This is a MUST TRY for everyone ! We will definitely be back real soon 🤤 Looking forward to trying the rotating menu EVERY...

You know, I'm always on the lookout for great new ice cream spots, and let me tell you, Wandering Cone Creamery did not disappoint! A friend had shared their Facebook page, raving about this place, so my family and I decided to check it out since we're all huge ice cream fans.

As soon as we walked in, I was in awe of the ambiance. Get this - it's located in an old Coca-Cola bottling plant! How cool is that? The atmosphere alone was enough to make me excited about the experience.

But then came the real star of the show - the ice cream itself. Oh man, it was incredible! My kids went for the classic scoops in a waffle cone, but my wife and I decided to be a little adventurous and try the flight. Basically, you get to sample six different flavors served up in this little eggshell container.

I opted for vanilla, chocolate chip, salted caramel, cookie and cream, birthday cake, and pina colada. Every single one was absolutely to die for! The flavors were rich, creamy, and bursting with taste. I could hardly decide which one was my favorite.

Honestly, by the time we left, my family and I were already making plans to come back soon. Wandering Cone Creamery has officially become our new go-to ice cream hotspot. If you're a fellow ice cream lover, you've gotta check this place out! Trust me, it's worth braving brain freeze...

june 2025 flavors: go get a flight of all six june flavors, they are all incredible! impossible to pick a fav, they are all equally delicious.

update: october 2024 flavors are incredible! winners in my opinion are maple pecan and the apple sorbet! but i recommend getting a flight so you can try all six and share with a friend or two! && they do $0.50 pup cups in a mini cone filled with whipped cream!

most delightful ice cream shop i’ve ever been to! the owner, Amanda, was so incredibly kind and informative about their whole process! she makes everything fresh, in house, with real ingredients! and the moment you take a bite, you can instantly tell! even the waffle cones are made right in front of you! fresh made gluten free and vegan options are readily available! you can sample any flavor (the strawberry ice cream is made with real strawberries—it was so refreshing)! i got the mini cone, which was the perfect size for me! my sister’s got the flight of 6 flavors and they were so excited! the ambiance of the shop is so cheerful and hand crafted by the owner’s family! she said they’ll have cute merch, soon! :) come support this amazing small business this summer! indoor and outdoor seating is available! so happy the Wandering...
