Louie's Hot Dogs — Restaurant in Wilmington

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED... Undate- 11/8/24 not sure why my pictures aren't visible. Find another hotdog, somewhere else. Bad dogs hope I don't get sick. Went there for lunch at 1pm on 5/26/2022. The owner had another lady today, it was good to see she had some help, until... I noticed the owner eating cookies after she made the last customer's hot dogs. She then proceeded to make mine. She seems out of it. Not sure what has happened to her, but she clearly doesn't care about her customers or her business. Quality is zero. I asked her for a Mr. Brown combo, also requested my hotdog be microwaved. She snapped at me, " it's steaming hot." I told her that's what you told me the last time and it wasn't hot, if you don't mind, I'd like my hotdogs microwaved.

She grabbed a plastic bin took the hotdogs out of the water, she stuck a thermometer into one stared for about a minute and then said it's 150 degrees. Impossible, 150 degrees is hot. She put the hotdogs in the microwave in the plastic bin with water, I left to check on my car. The lady worker came out and asked me what I wanted on my hotdogs.I hate to say this, but... My mom was an addict and that's who the owner reminded me of. ( THIS IS MY OPINION AS AN EX SOCIAL WORKER AND A CHILD OF AN ADDICT PARENT. I can't say what is going on with her, but eating there for over 10 years, I can say something is very wrong.) I went inside and told her my order for the third time. The worker came back and they started dancing, I was a social worker here in Wilmington, I've been getting hotdogs here since 2012. I met her daughter once, she is awesome and served up hotdogs with a smile. Her daughter is very kind.

The owner should be ashamed of herself selling discolored hotdogs to customers. I paid $9 for that combo. Again, I hope I don't get sick. I specifically asked how long the hotdogs have been cooked, she said 30 minutes. She also said they got dark because of the microwave, I told her they looked brown before she put them in the microwave, I trusted her and I was very hungry. I'll never eat there again.

She has a picture with our great mayor Bill Saffo, as do I, I love our mayor. She should be ashamed of her conduct and business practices, especially having that picture on her wall, it should serve as a reminder of the greatness she once exuded to have the honor of being recognized by our city and our great mayor. I HOPE SOMEONE SHOWS HER THIS MESSAGE AND SHE CAN GET THE HELP SHE NEEDS BEFORE...

it has been 9 years since I've lived in Wilmington and I still crave an All The Way dog from Louies. hot damn they make the best hot dogs I've ever had in my entire life.

two dogs any way you want and a cherry lemonade for less than 7bucks when I was there last. totally awesome.

I may have gained 15lbs that summer, and never once regretted it.

if you have not eaten here, you really need to try it. I tell people all around the world about this tiny little hot dog joint.. it is amazing.

since I moved away I compare every hot dog to a Louies Dog and they never come close.. it is all about that home made chili, the incredible cheese sauce.. and oh Lord, the slaw!!!! so good.

Customer service was great but I had 2 tell the lady that was making the food and taking orders to wash Her hands and change Her gloves! When we came in She was making orders from previous orders so She had on gloves....She took one off took our order and money and tried 2 start making or food...I said ohhhhh noooo You gotta wash your hands and change gloves before you make my food! She did and was not upset because She knew I was right about that. I will return but I gotta watch Her lol. She was nice overall and the hot dogs were good like always...very popular hotdogs stand and everybody knows its the...
