This happened last night (May 5th around 8:20 PM) Went with my mother to the Racine Dr location and while we were ordering our drinks a girl who was an employee came up to us and told me somebody there has a restraining order against me without even asking for a name or an ID which is completely false as I have never done anything to anybody let alone have a single crime on my record. I'm 17 and am homeschooled with extreme social anxiety so something like that is so incredibly far out there. We told her that I'm 17 and I've never done anything to anyone.. knowing that she still continued persisting without knowing who I am. A few moments later while we were trying to get her to realize they have the wrong person another employee came around the corner to tell her they have the wrong guy when she didn't even know who she was talking to. They apologized yet it seemed insincere. We then proceeded to wait like 20 minutes for our drinks. The woman who wasn't even the one that came up to us with the accusation apologized to us and said they have had a few scares in the past. (which to me implies that they have falsely accused people a few times before) The fact that I was not even pulled to the side but was came up to in-front of the entire store that had quite a few people in it at the time. The absolute LEAST that could've been done about it was offering something like free drinks. You don't just come up to someone about to kick them out of the store when you don't even have their name or ID. And the fact that the girl who did it didn't even apologize but instead the other girl in the back did makes me feel so livid and disrespected. I love or well loved this place, the drinks are outstanding and so good but when things like that are handled so unprofessionally it makes me want to take my business someplace else and...
Read moreMy husband and I are visiting for a business trip and stopped here twice. We’re both Asian and love our boba. First time was (12/8) evening and we were the only customers there. The lady at the register was SUPER nice and explained everything very well. I got a Tiger boba regular milk tea and my husband got one of their matcha frostea boba. The other lady who made our drinks was fast and got mine done before my husband made his choice. We both got the regular size since we didn’t know if we’d like it. Turned out we really loved it! The tapioca had a good taste and chewy texture. We loved it so much that we went again yesterday evening (12/9). However, this time we had a different experience. The place had a good amount of people there and the workers were different. The lady who took our order was very nice. I loved their tiger boba so much that I order a large this time. I knew the person who made it was different because it was completely different. The drink was extremely watered down, it tasted like I was drinking poorly flavored water. The amount of boba was little. Barely any brown sugar syrup on the sides. No ice. I was very disappointed. My husband had gotten their regular sized taro frostea. It was good but not the same consistency and quality as the matcha frostea he had gotten the night before. I seriously considered going back to ask for a new drink or a refund because of how bad mine was but they were so busy and I didn’t want to bother. If I had tried this place for the first time based on last night’s boba, I would’ve given this place 2/5 stars but since I had such a good experience the first time I decided to...
Read moreI am a huge fan of bubble tea, so when I saw a that Tap Tea opened up in Wilmington I knew I had to try it. My first visit to Tap Tea was awful but I figured since they were a new business I would give them another chance. The next couple of visits to Tap my drinks have were delicious. However, after my visit on Saturday, I will not be returning. A friend of mine and I arrived at Tap around 8:50. Right when we stepped into the door we were informed if we wanted boba we would have at least a 15-20 minute wait. Seeing as we drove 40 minutes to Wilmington, we agreed it was worth the wait and paid for our drinks. A few minutes later the extremely rude male barista informed us that our drinks were done. They had no boba in them like we ordered. When we reminded him for the third time that we had ordered boba, he said "Oh yeah I'll throw your drinks in the freezer while you wait". Well, at 9:50, we finally received our drinks that were extremely watered down and melted at this point, with a small amount of soggy boba thrown on top of our drinks. We were in disbelief at how disgusting our drinks were, and how rude the customer service was. This is not the first time I have had a negative experience with this male associate. He and the female that were working were very rude and were slinging around and acting angry that we chose to wait for our drinks. If the business closes at 10 pm why did they not make more boba when they ran out hours before closing? It's very disappointing that I have to go to Charlotte for good boba but worth a trip to...
