The food was good. The service was good. It would have actually been a pretty good dinner but we ordered the deep fried ice cream at the end and I don't suggest this ever being a part of your meal in your lifetime. Not at this restaurant... absolutely horrible. Our experience across the US with traditional deep fried ice cream has been similar to a deep frozen ice cream ball, wrapped in bakery pastry, quick fried to order, where the pastry is warm on the outside and the ice cream on the inside is cold and they are rolled in sugar and cinnamon and then topped with either chocolate or caramel sauce and then have a slight amount of whipped cream on the top. Basically, a warm "eclair" filled with cold ice cream... But not here. At this restaurant, It's a huge chunk of ice cream rolled in cornmeal, fried way in advance, REFROZEN and then served as a huge, cold greasy ball with a wierd oil vat taste of corn meal. Made us all sick and go home with not a good end to what was a decent meal. If you are going to eat at this restaurant simply do not order the fried ice cream. As I said the food was good and the service was good but I will definitely not be eating anything from them that is fried in the future. Disappointing end to an otherwise good Mother's Day meal. Worst part of it, is that we chose Mexican food on Mother's Day for the sole purpose of sharing deep-fried pastry ice cream with our daughter who had never had it before and now I fear she probably never will want to try it...
Read moreFirst time coming here on this beautiful Sunday what best way to end your day then with a great dinner. In hopes that that food would be great since they have decent star rating we decided to try this place. Wrong! We had 3 different plates that contained steak and it was very disappointing meat had no flavor, it was like a slab of meat that was just tossed on the grill. I asked for hot sauce and they brought a bottle sauce with no label of what was in there and not good at all (who knows what was in there). Then asked for a grilled pepper the waitress said it would be a while to get that pepper. At this point I had given up on being able to add something to make my meal better. Tortillas where just microwave and where all stuck to each other and kept ripping into pieces when pulled apart. My 9 year old daughter had to get a grown up plate because they would not sell us 2 carnitas tacos because they were already pre made. So went for the steak plate of which she picked a few pieces of the meat because once again meat was chewy and had no flavor. At the end we did not eat the most the steak other then to try it. I tried to talk to the manager and the waitress came back and said she would not talk to me, she did the best she could. The waitress was nice and did her best. Huge waste of $ very...
Read moreGreat food and the atmosphere is good. I opened the menu and saw that the burrito was 12.50, that made sense seeing as how they most likely have more employees on the clock than they other restaurants do given how busy it was there. The service was great. The free chips and salsa were worth it, I mean they really got the salsa and chips right! The San Blas burrito was good, it was very hot, and it was wet-style so only edible with a fork (not an eat-with-your-hands type of burrito). They have this old pathos plant (philodendron) growing as decoration on the wall (indoor vine plant). Most likely it was moved because even though the vine is still a long vine, many of the leaves have fallen off, cutting the vine and regrowing new starts in water from the new cuts would likely work, or tucking in the long non-leaf-bearing part of the vine inside the pot to resprout roots would work as well. I hope the large pathos thrives. Oh upon leaving I was only changed 9.50 I don't know why I was rang up at the lesser price but I didn't saw...
