What a turn around, props to the manager and the team. You can see where this D&D came from by reading my previous post, to where it is today….a clean, solid and pleasant experience…..and in such a small window.
What’s also nice is the staff aren’t arguing with each other, copping an attitude, negligent etc.. Food service is a tough industry, standing on your feet all, day, interacting w customers, online orders, cleaning, deliveries etc., etc., and a tight space to boot…..is taxing, you don’t need to add to it voluntarily.
Culture starts from the top and the manager’s relaxed, affable, professional and super efficient demeanor resonates through the rest of the team.
I hope they keep it up, looking forward to bumping my review to 5 stars and thanks to the team for a great experience. ; )

OMG…..I’m mean OHH EMM GEE! What a mess, what a total, total disaster. It’s comedic. ; )
After a year I decided to give the Dixie D&D another try. Everyone speaks about how much of a disaster that place is, I wanted to buck the perception. Well, it’s a fail and a big one, fresh faces (apart from 1) different chaos.
I visited the place 6 times in the past 10 days and only 2 of those went smoothly.
For example, I was third in line and the only reason I moved up was because the person ahead walked out and the person ahead of them walked out. Essentially, the clerk would start taking an order, then randomly walk away, it took 15+ minutes for me to get an order in.
Another time: Mid afternoon, ordered a coffee, the clerk poured it, put cream in it, sniffed it, threw it away…..this happened a total of 4 times….yep. Between pours he would randomly walk away or just stand looking into space, taking forever. At the time there was only one other Cust there. I took the latter as a sign and left without the order.
Btw, I have never seen more people walk out of anything, fast food chain, movie etc..
Yesterday, Saturday, 8:30am, I walk in, people waiting for food, line to the counter is 4 deep. Busy right? Nope. People were waiting because the employees were arguing behind the counter, there was some sort of confusion about orders and finger pointing was in full swing. I put in my order, well sort of, the clerk kept interrupting me saying ‘wait’ then she go and argue with a colleague and come back, this happened 3 times, I left and went to the Dunkin on Sunrise. By the time I left there was a cluster of people waiting for their orders.
From what I saw, the only time the Dixie D&D actually worked like a regular D&D was when the manager was in. Nice lady and she would ask for a review after giving you the receipt. That would explain the stream of positive reviews clashing with the negative ones.
That place has huge problems. From my brief revisit I noticed, donut baskets were nearly always empty, regularly mislabeled and not illuminated. Lots of homeless people inside and on the patio, dirty tables etc.. I get it, you don’t want to be insensitive to homeless folks but just keep the tables clean.
I’m surprised D&D corporate hasn’t revoked the franchise license because the brand is getting trashed.
Ultimately, as a customer it’s not worth the time/hassle for a coffee/sandwich/donut. What gets me is that place could be a total cash cow and good place to work. It’s in Wilton Manors, so the customer base are overwhelmingly nice people, it’s the only D&D in town and more. The...

I use the app to get the point to eventually redeem for a freebie here and there. Today at 2:31 pm a young man, who gave me the name Nu-Nu, told me that they no longer make ice coffee for the coffee you get to redeem for the points. Which is strange because at this exact location I’ve got this same thing several times. So I asked who said that’s the new rule and his response was my coworkers. So I said may I have your name. He said nunu and asked can he have mine. I said Sarah. And I said I guess I have to go to a different location and I’d never heard of that. He then mocked me repeatedly yelling my name and laughing saying he didn’t feel like making my coffee anyway. So I had to leave without my coffee and with my two kids crying without getting their doughnuts. Customer service has really died. And the young man named Nu-nu is working in the wrong industry. He clearly does not like his job at Dunkin doughnuts. And it’s sad because I go to this location every morning and I tip very well. It’s not an easy job. And I have the upmost respect for any hospitality employee, as I am apart of the industry myself. I would never imagine treating a paying customer like that.
REVISED:
Jump forward 6 days I called and spoke to corporate And I got my points back. So to test if what MR NUNU said about not being able to redeem my points for ice coffee. I went today, and ordered that very same ice coffee. And to my astonishment I received my ice coffee. After ordering I then told the manager (who by the way knows my whole family) what transpired that day and she was embarrassed by his actions. She apologized and told me actions would be taken against MR NUNU. She was polite like always. And even offered me to come back for complimentary munchkins, seen as how we didn’t get ours the day he refused to make my iced coffee. She made me feel much better about coming back to MY store, in MY neighborhood. I feel so bad because I forgot to tip her today telling her my concerns. But I know she sees the reviews. And I will be back on her shift to tip her and make up for it. I won’t let 1 bad apple spoil the whole bunch. She has bright future ahead of her and I wish her nothing but the best in life. Thank you.
And NUNU I hope that you find peace in life so you don’t have to be nasty to customers at your job. So that you can elevate in life. And may you not remain...
Read moreMy order came to $10. and a few cents. I gave the cashier a $20 and told him to keep the coins. He handed me the coins and put the $9 in the tip cup. Yeah, like I'm tipping $9 on a $10 order. What was he thinking? I gave him the coins and took my $9 I was supposed to get back out of the tip cup and told him the coins were his, not the $9.
My order was right for a change as they kept putting cream cheese on the bagel I ordered in the past, although I specifically asked for butter.
So I go out on the patio area where street people are usually hanging out stinking up the patio area but this time there was only one at a far back table so I sat as far away as I could.
Turns out there's a rock in the bagel that I didn't realize was there until I crunched down on it on my far back left molar. Broke off the back edge of my tooth and I had to have a crown put on it today. Glad it didn't break my front teeth.
Most expensive bagel I've ever ended up having in my whole life adding in the cost of the crown.
No use to take the rock in and show the employee who can't understand tipping what the rock in their bagel did to my tooth because hard to prove unless there was a witness sitting there hearing the rock break my tooth and watch me spit out the piece of bagel with the rock that was in it and part of my tooth.
I've already had 3 shady Fort Lauderdale law firms take my deposit money, then get themselves removed from the lawsuit I filed with them and be granted permission to keep my deposit money by a shady Fort Lauderdale judge who probably got a take of my deposit money so what's the use the use of throwing money down into the Fort Lotta Drama hole?
