We found out about this great Peruvian restaurant when we won a gift certicate for dinner. We decided to give it a try and it was a wonderful experience. Niko, the server was very pleasant and very informative. We were not familiar with the fact that Peruvian and Asian is a terrific fusion meal. The Peruvian shrimp fried rice was the best thing we tried all evening and that is saying a lot since all of the food was delicious. The food is prepared by a Peruvian chef that uses very fresh ingredients and most importantly cares about her food heritage. The steak dish was delicious and it is common for Peruvian dishes to be served with rice AND fries. I requested only rice and they happily accomodated my request. It goes without saying the ceviche was fresh, tasty and they had one on the happy hour menu. It was delightful and we enjoyed 2 for 1 beers. Wines are 2 for 1 on Wednesdays. They not only serve dinner but also have a terrific brunch menu Thurs -Sunday. This might be a small restaurant but they are big on flavor...
Read moreThe place is very nice and the service is good but 4 little tostones for $10 is excessive, the ceviche mixto has a beautiful presentation and nice flavor but 3 shrimps, 2 calamari rings and maybe 100g of white fish for $26 is again excessive, when you have la Granja for the same flavor at $16. The chaufa de pollo, again good flavor but the porcion for $23 😱, 5lb of Rice in Walmart is $6. Maybe that is the cost to be in the Wilton Drive but the amount of food for the price is absurd. When you get a green plantain in Walmart for 0.54ct/unit and you can get 10 tostones for a plantain, pay $10 for 4 small tostones Wow, no even added cost of production, people and utilities. Every one will pay what they want but the amount of food for the value is not to repeat. No recommended to the whole community for...
Read moreMy friends and I enjoyed a delicious dinner at Sardi during our visit to Wilton Manors. We especially loved the chicha morada (a refreshing and cinnamon-y drink), the ceviches, and, for me, the parihuela (a rich and spicy seafood soup loaded with fish, shrimp, mussels, squid, and octopus). My friends who had the Peruvian Chinese dishes like chifa thought they were tasty and generously portioned. The decor is festive, and our server made us feel at home from the start. If I lived in the area, I’d come here regularly for the ceviche!
My only and very minor suggestion for our hosts: standing up chopsticks in a bowl of rice or noodles is generally considered bad juju in Chinese and Japanese culture, because it resembles sticks of incense used to worship the dead. It’s OK just to offer them...
