Opened in 2005 by Antonio Dumas, To the Moon stocks thousands of candy's from 80 countries so any sweet tooth can be satisfied. Dumas decided on the stores name as a tribute to Jackie Gleason's famous line in the TV show the Honeymooners. Like the Kramdens, Dumas is from Brooklyn and his parents are named Ralph and Alice.
Come to the dark side with an entire wall of black licorice. Or maybe chocolate is your vice. Gummies, gum, mints, marzipan, lollipops, taffy, hard candy, they have you covered. Candy you ate as a kid, yes, candy your parents ate as a kid, yes again. Bulk candy dates back to brands from 1806! It is probably safe to say that if you can think it up, they carry it.
In addition to a wonderland of candy they also sell gag gifts, greeting cards, classic toys, tin lunchboxes, political humor items, collectibles, novelties, ice cream, and some of the most interesting Christmas ornaments I have ever seen. They carry over 13,000 different items. This is a great place to find a funny, unique, or sweet gift.
The store is also super cramped. It's like shopping in a walk-in closet. After a short time I started feeling claustrophobic. If I had a specific candy in mind or gift I needed I could definitely find it here. I do plan to come back and do some shopping for...
Read moreIt is a nice store, but the guy who works there is rude. By reading the comments, I think he is the owner because according to the comments he has only been rude to women and Latinas.
I was on the phone and he had someone standing there at the counter, in front of him. So, I kept talking waiting for the "customer" to be done and/or him to say may I help you? After five minutes, he finally said something to me and it was a rude comment. "You need any help? Because I don't take care of anyone who is on the phone." At that moment, the "customer" moved out of the way. He was not a customer. He was just hanging out with him. So, I responded "And I don't move towards the counter, unless the person in front of me moves or the cashier asks 'may I help you?" I have gone to this store many times, but this is the last time I am going. I usually bring people to the store from S.F., Miami and New York. I never had a problem before, but I don't put up with rudeness. It takes only one time. Besides there are other shops like his in the area. The guys at Rock Hard are much friendlier.
Never, again. I am the customer. He is the one who is supposed to have told his friend to move out of the way and then ask the magic question, "May...
Read moreI recently brought my little brother here for his birthday, and it turned out to be an absolutely extraordinary experience! The sheer variety of candies on offer left us both in awe, but what truly set this place apart was the owner’s exceptional knowledge and enthusiasm. He explained the store layout to us and shared lots of insight about the different sweets, their origins, and fun facts. But it wasn’t just the sweets that captured our attention; the store had a treasure trove of surprises. From organic, handmade candles to luxurious hand lotions and quirky bar soaps with hilariously creative names, there was something unique around every corner. We were also pleasantly surprised by the extensive collection of humorous cards, gifts, and other charming items. This establishment transcends the typical candy store experience. It’s a haven of wonder and delight, made even more exceptional by the owner’s personalized and informative approach. To top it all off, he generously gifted my little brother some treats for his birthday, leaving us with heartwarming memories. 🥰 12/10 would recommend and we will most definitely...
