So, this one was a hard one for me. I really wanted to like this place and support it, since drag is becoming a lost art here in Vegas after the closing of the Rivera. Overall, I gave it 3 stars because we went for the sunday gossip brunch and having lived in Dallas for many years, my expectations were high. And being in Vegas, I really expected this place to be amazing. I spent many a Saturday night at the Rose Room inside of The Station on Cedar Springs that put on some awesome drag shows. Yes, all happening right in the heart of the bible belt. Anyway...
If you are going for the food, I'd advise that you dont get your hope's up. The food had been catered in and everything was cold. To be fair though, there was quite a selection available and there was an omelet station that could make you something hot if you so desired.
I'd rate the drag show as just ok. It felt like the performers were more interested in collecting dollars from the patrons, than really putting on a show. Just going through the motions as they had done for years. I think the concept is great, but this place is in the heart of Vegas baby and is due for an overhaul or (re)vamping... pun intended.
I think the best way to enjoy this place is with a big group of people. One where your main goal is to drink yourself silly and laugh it up at the campiness of the whole thing by not taking any of it too seriously to really have...
Read moreHave you ever wondered what the bathroom would feel like after Satan takes a shower? Hamburger Marys knows. Unfortunately their AC went out last night when some friends and I came to visit. Honestly, the show should have been cancelled. We could only imagine how uncomfortable the queens must have felt under all their drag in the spotlight. And the dancers too! I would advise calling first to make sure the AC works.
We were told after paying entry and being seated that the AC was being fixed as we spoke. Great, no way they wouldn't have AC for the performers and hot lights for the show, right? As more and more people piled into the venue, the hotter it became of course. No bueno. But then during the show the MC mentioned that no one had come out yet to fix the AC because it was Vegas and not considered an emergency. Wait...what?! Hindsight is 20/20 and we should have just refunded our entry fee as soon as we were told the AC was out. We would have coe back at another time or less hot day. Be warned patrons!
Was the show great? Yes. I even enjoyed my burger while some other friends unfortunately had their burger overcooked. The experience was like 0 stars due to not being comfortable during the show and able to throughly enjoy yourself. However, our arms are quite toned from constantly fanning ourselves with menus in between tipping...
Read moreTo start, the entertainment was amazing! I bought the best reservation (VIP) for my sister and myself to attend the show for her birthday. We arrived early, like stated online, yet there was already a line out the door and the venue was packed. I reserved a VIP booth intentionally due to my sister’s chronic health conditions and pain. The booth would’ve been more comfortable for her, that’s why I paid extra. By the time we finally made it to the front, the show had already started. Our waiter guided us to our table…. It was a makeshift table shoved all the way in the corner where people were entering and exiting the stage. Keep in mind we couldn’t even see the entire stage. We had to flag down several waiters before we got acknowledged qbd served a beverage (35 mins in). I was already upset as this was supposed to be her bday gift and everyone was completely ignoring us (YES I understand it was busy!!! However, at least acknowledging your customers to let them know you’ll be right there makes a huge difference!) We kept getting bumped into because I was literally sitting halfway at my table, and halfway in the curtain to enter backstage. They comped 2 drinks for us due to running into us 3x, which I appreciated, however this wasn't the experience I expected for purchasing VIP tickets AND...
